24:13 On that day two of them went to a village called Emmaus, twenty-five li from Jerusalem.
24:14 They talked to each other about all these things.
24:15 As they talked and inquired with one another, Jesus drew near and went with them.
24:16 Their eyes were blinded, so that they did not recognize him.
24:17 Jesus said to them, "What are the conversations you guys have with each other as you go along the way?" And the two stood still with a sad light.
24:18 One of them, Clobara, answered and said, While you are sojourning in Jerusalem, are you the only one not aware of what has happened there these days?
24:19 He said to him, "What is the matter?" He said, "This is about Jesus of Nazareth, who is a prophet mighty in word and in deed before God and all the people.
24:20 Our chief priests and officials handed him over to death and crucified him.
24:21 We hoped that this man would be the redeemer of Israel, and not only this, but on the third day that it happened.
24:22 And some women among us astonished us, for they went to the tomb at dawn,
24:23 He came without seeing his body, saying that he saw the appearance of angels who said that he had risen.
24:24 And some of those who were with us went to the tomb and saw it as the women said, but they did not see Jesus.
24:25 He said to them, "You foolish ones and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken.
24:26 Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and enter into his glory?
24:27 And beginning with the writings of Moses and all the prophets, he explained in detail the things concerning him that were written in all the scriptures.
