Title: Why Live?

1. If anyone asks why are you buying, everyone will be puzzled.

To a living person, the question “Why do you live?” can be a very absurd question at first glance. It is doubtful how many people live and prepare answers for it. Most of us live our lives without taking it so seriously. In other words, most of them live without any preparation for the meaning and purpose of life. It was not clear why I had to live, so I heard the news that the young generation these days even created a suicide site to share the problem of suicide with each other, and even asked to kill each other.

It means that we have become a generation that is not clear.

Since the beginning of human history, this question has been constantly asked, and it is still a question that has not been answered by world knowledge.

why do i live What is the purpose of my life?

So far, the answers to this question have roughly been summed up in a few pieces.

The first is either nihilism, pessimism, or agnosticism, the second is hedonism, or pragmatism of self-fulfillment.

If we fall into nihilism or pessimism, we become pessimistic about the world and commit suicide.

Instead, if you fall into hedonism or self-fulfillmentism, you will live only in self-satisfaction regardless of any means. As a result, unethical acts that are worse than those of animals are committed without hesitation. However, the above arguments do not provide clear answers to the fundamental questions of life.

2. The Lord came to this earth to answer this question.

To understand the question of why we live, we need to know God. Because to know who I am, I need to know who God is. Because then I know that I am a creature. If you don't acknowledge that humans are creatures, then who are you? Why do you live? You can't help but die without knowing.

Also, if you want to know God, not everyone can know it.

You must receive revelation from the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Verse 27 of today's text says, "All things have been given to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and he who receives a revelation as the Son wishes."

Who is the one who receives the revelation according to the son's wishes?

It refers to those who have accepted Jesus and those who believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. In other words, only those who believe in Jesus can solve the fundamental question of life, the question of why we should live.

Therefore, the Lord said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

All those who carry the heavy burdens of life should come to the Lord. This is a word to all those who are struggling with not being able to solve the troubles of life. I told him to come to the Lord. It means that life problems can only be solved when you come before the Lord. Apart from Jesus, life's problems are not solved.

He said, 'Apart from me you can do nothing'. He came to this earth as a human to solve life's heavy burdens.

In other words, the Lord came to solve the fundamental question of man.

The Lord did not come to this world to become a good teacher like Confucius or Mencius, but to solve the fundamental problems of life.

3. What is the Lord's answer to the meaning of life?

It reminded me that humans are beings who need to be saved from sin. This is the fundamental problem. No matter how successful a life without the forgiveness of sins is, no matter how much knowledge you have, no matter how wealthy you may have, they are all in vain as if caught in the wind. Therefore, the most fundamental thing in life is salvation from sin.

Humans are born with the yoke of sin. The penalty for sin is death. Therefore, to live under this sin is not the real life, but only the death. No matter how kind you are, and no matter how much you enjoy wealth, if you do not receive salvation, your life will end in death.

So also in Hymn 269:

① For some reason, my brother, Lord, if you believe, you will also be punished in hell for your sins.

② For some reason, my brother, you follow only demons, and when those demons go to hell, you will also go.

③ For some reason, my brother, when you only get riches and burn things in the world, you will get burned too.

④ For some reason, my brother, I cannot see you suffering endlessly because you are bound by sin.

⑤ Hello, my brethren, come to the Lord, the crucified Lord, I love you.

Salvation from sin is the most fundamental problem in life. Human beings who are descended from Adam's blood are inherently sinners.

Whether we acknowledge this or not, the clear fact is that death is the result of sin. death! No one can deny this. They are all mortal creatures.

No one can deny that there is no death. Life is all about living under the power of death and ending with death.

Jesus Christ came to solve this.

Therefore, Jesus Christ is the Savior of life.

It is eternal life itself.

I am the way, the truth, and the life.

Only those who have accepted the Lord who is this life will realize the meaning of life. If you do not know this, there are only the basic human desires of bread and the desire to preserve the race.

They eat and have children without knowing why they have to live.

Therefore, parents give up their responsibility for their children without knowing it.

We make love only as pleasure.

Human beings live without the ability to think about why they should live as human beings.

Jesus taught humans what true happiness is.

That is the Sermon on the Mount.

Here, the eight beatitudes were mentioned.

If you look at those eight blessings, it is different from the concept of blessings of the world.

Among them, it is said that blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied..."

"Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Among the eight wombs, the word of righteousness was emphasized twice.

Living for righteousness! It was said to be a blessing.

To live under persecution for the sake of righteousness is the meaning of life.

But in our reality, this is not the case.

They believe that there is happiness only when there is an abundance of bread.

So we move on to economic firstism.

But the Lord did not teach that way.

“Do not worry about what you will eat or what you will wear. All these are what the Gentiles seek, and you must first

Seek his kingdom and his righteousness. And all these things will be added to you.”

He told us to seek God's (righteousness) first.

is the means, not the end of life.

But many people become enslaved to this means of life and lose their purpose.

are living

The first man, Adam, lost his righteousness while greedy for food in the Garden of Eden.

So, after fasting for 40 days, Jesus prayed for God rather than under extreme circumstances.

overcame temptation with

To teach this very thing, he came into this world.

It is not that people live only on bread (economy only/wealth/money only).

showed that you are.

Let's take a look at our society today.

In our reality, bread is not a problem.

The problem is that righteousness has disappeared.

The problem is that justice has disappeared.

Righteousness in the Bible has two meanings.

① One refers to the best value for life order.

② The other refers to the fairness of the trial.

In our society today, both of these are gone.

He chooses a path where he can earn a lot of bread just by looking for college.

What was the result?

Spilling public funds in astronomical numbers has failed again.

Many people have suffered great property damage due to those who run the finance business. especially the claim

A company called Enance, whose president is in his early 30s, puts up an advertisement that he will pay a high interest rate on purpose, raises 100 billion won of customers' money, wastes it on luxury and waste, causing a social scandal, and is now fleeing abroad. I mean, even young people can become like this if they don't live righteously. this

When a country loses justice like this, can it succeed no matter how much it tries to boost the economy?

Paradoxically, North Korea is holding on as it is because it has a spirit that rejects capitalism even to the point of starvation.

It remains to be seen which side will win in the future, but no one can guarantee that the spirit of the youth of the Republic of Korea will not collapse like the fall of the splendid Roman Empire if they live without practicing righteousness.

David said in Psalm 1 that the blessed are those who meditate on the law of the Lord day and night. It means to live according to God.

Because this is the righteousness of God.

There is no blessing in the way of receiving this neglect of God and disobeying God.

From now on, if you are a leader who wants to set up and build our Republic of Korea right, it is the way to turn to the first principle, not the first in the economy.

This is the urgent task of today's Christian politicians, Christian businessmen, and Christian educators.

Look at Esau, Sodom and Gomorrah, the former Soviet Union and other atheistic communist countries that gave up righteousness for the sake of bread.

They lost their bread, they lost their intentions, they lost their hallways.

But look at America.

America's problems are not one or two, but it is thanks to the ancestors of their 120 Puritans who gave up bread for the sake of righteousness that they have the strength and economic power to lead the world.

As a result, they gained not only bread, but also faith, freedom, and prosperity.

If there is any message from God coming to Korea today, it is this.

If there is anything demanded of Christianity in Korea, it will demand righteousness.

We must realize that this righteousness is now demanded not only by Christians but in all areas of their lives.

Therefore, instead of repeating the meaningless Christmas, we must accept Christ who came to this earth for righteousness and realize righteousness from small things in the field of our life.

I think that today's coming is the correct reception of Christmas.
