Old Testament
41. And Elijah said to Ahab, Go up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of heavy rain.
42. Ahab went up to eat and drink. Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel, and knelt down on the ground, and put his face between his knees.
43. And he said to his servant, Go up and look toward the sea; and he went up and looked, and said, There is nothing.
44. And on the seventh time he said, "A little cloud the size of a man's hand rises out of the sea. Go up and say to Ahab, Get your chariot and go down so that the rain won't stop it."
45. After a while a cloud and a wind rose, and the sky became dark, and it rained heavily. So Ahab got in a chariot and went to Jezreel.
46. And the power of the LORD came upon Elijah, and he girded himself and ran before Ahab as far as the entrance to Jezreel.
new testament
15. For this reason I also heard your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints
16. I remember when I prayed and did not cease to give thanks for you.
17. The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, has given you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, that you may know God,
18 Open the eyes of your hearts, what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints?
19. I pray that you may know what is the exceeding greatness of the power he has bestowed upon us who believe, as he works by the might of his might.

Why should we pray? It is natural for those who believe in God to pray, but in reality, praying is not easy. The fact that prayer is difficult seems to come to light when you try to pray.
Prayer is about building a relationship with God, because even if you pray once or twice, your relationship with God does not come close and you have to pray consistently. If we know the benefits of prayer through the prayers of the Apostle Paul, we will know the joy of prayer and become people who pray much more easily.
1. Gratitude comes through prayer. Verse 16 “When I prayed, I remembered you, and I did not cease to give thanks for you” The apostle Paul had a heart of thanksgiving when he prayed. Paul remembered the Ephesian Saints in prayer, and came to think of their faith and love. And I thanked God for giving them.
2. We come to know God more deeply through prayer. Verse 17 “The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, has given you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, that you may know God.” Paul prays for the Ephesian church members. God, give them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that they may know You. Prayer helps us to know God better.
3. You will receive power through prayer. Verses 18-19 “I pray that the eyes of your hearts may be opened so that you may know what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe.” Those who pray receive power. The power of forgiveness comes through prayer. The power of love is also given by God. The power to overcome temptation comes from the Lord.
Those who are bound by a habit they cannot change, who know that it is a bad attitude but cannot change it, come to the Lord in prayer. Hold on to the Lord in prayer. Power comes from the Lord. As we hold on to the Lord in prayer, His power flows into us to heal, heal, and renew us.
