Title: Why Should We Believe? / John 3:16
Herbert Benson, a MD, treating patients with faith, did my own research on how beliefs affect their treatment. Note that he is not a Christian.
"Relieves headache. Eliminates angina (positive belief can cure 80% of angina patients)
promote creativity; Insomnia goes away prevent stroke; Helps to treat high blood pressure by reducing blood pressure.
beneficial in the treatment of cancer. Controls the shock caused by fear. lowers cholesterol content;
It eliminates symptoms caused by anxiety, such as diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, anxiety, tantrums, and inability to get along with others. It relieves stress and brings peace of mind and balance of emotions.
He was never interested in religion or philosophy. However, scientific examination revealed that the phenomenon of 'faith' has the same medical effects as those listed above."
Today we went outdoors. While having a good time together in the nature God has given us, today, we want to share the Word of why we believe in Jesus.
Today's sermon is going to focus on the 4 wisdoms that we use the most when introducing Jesus Christ.
There are some people who were led by friends to the church for the first time today because it was an outdoor worship service, and some people have believed in Jesus for a long time. I hope it will be a time to organize the gospel.
1. God loved you.
The first thing to think about before getting to know Jesus is that God loves you and has a wonderful plan for you.
As the text we read together today says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." And in John 10:10, he said, “I came that they might have life, and have it more abundantly.”
Because God loves us, and he wants us to have life in abundance. He says that he blesses everyone in this world and leads them to green pastures and still waters. But, everyone, why do we have so many people living in misery, and living in anxiety on this earth? Will we lose happiness on people's faces, lose their smiles, and live in anxieties and worries every day?
2. Because you are separated from God.
It is because people have turned away from God. Therefore, we cannot know God's love and plan, and we cannot experience it.
Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and the glory of God has come to pass.” Originally, man was created to live in fellowship with God. However, because man wanted to live his own life, his friendship with God was cut off. It means you are separated from God. From then on, I was able to live a life of debauchery. Just like when children are with their parents, they are subject to parental intervention. Do this, do that, if you leave the house because you don't like the interference, your child will be debauched at will because he can't see his parents anymore. When we are in Korea, there are many eyes looking at us, so we live a life of restraint in our own way, but when we come to Japan, we start to see people who live their lives freely because there is no one who knows them.
But, how about you? It is also for a moment. After a certain amount of time passes, you will miss your home again, miss your scolding parents, miss your family, and have a homecoming instinct to go back.
However, those who have fallen away from God have a desire to return to God again. why? because it's insecure.
So they find the truth, and people are flocking to Aum Shinrikyo, saying, is this the truth? That's why people struggle to receive the heaven's "growth". Homecoming instincts to return to that God create many religions, and some try to reach God by living a good life, or philosophically, that is, on their own, but their relationship with God is separated by sin. It cannot be reconnected by any human strength or effort.
However, there is only one way to connect the relationship, and that is not on the human side, but on the God side.
This is because the problem of sin is something that humans cannot solve.
3. Jesus Christ is the only way.
No matter how much you throw a rope that reaches the sky, it cannot reach the sky. But when a rope comes down from the sky, we can grab it and reach the sky. If you say who is the lifeline that came down from heaven, it is Jesus Christ. God solved the problem of our sins by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to this world to die on the cross for us. To save us, God gave Jesus Christ down from heaven to build a bridge between us and God.
1 John 4:10 Here is love, not that we loved God, but that God loved us and sent his Son as the propitiation for our sins.
Now, Jesus Christ is the only way we can reach God. John 14:6 says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me."
Folks, the road is now laid. Now we have one more thing to do.
4. You must be welcomed.
Knowing does not lead to salvation. Now we have to admit and accept it by faith. John 1:12 “To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” Now I have to accept and believe in that Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. Then, the way of salvation will be opened and given to us. Jesus Christ said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20). To accept Christ means to change from being self-centered to God-centered, and to commit myself to Christ to come into me, forgive my sins, and become the person He wants me to be. No matter how intellectually I acknowledge Him, if I cannot entrust my life to Jesus Christ, it is not believing.
We must entrust our lives. We can say that we believe in Jesus Christ when we entrust our life, our family, our work, and everything.
Now, our Wonwon Church members, some have already believed in Jesus Christ for a long time, and some have just come to church for the first time. And on this special day, there are people who are led by their friends.
Everyone, no matter how you sit here today, we heard the gospel. They pray that you will be able to rest in the eternal life that the Lord has given you by keeping the Gospel in your hearts and believing, accepting, and accepting Jesus Christ.
Through this outdoor worship today, I earnestly pray that your hearts will be filled with Jesus Christ.
I hope you enjoy the blessing of salvation today with heartfelt joy.
