Title: Why Should We Obey God?

Contents

(Isa 29:15-16) “Woe to you who seek to hide deep from the LORD your plans, who do their work in darkness, saying, Who sees us, and who knows us? How can a potter be regarded as clay? How can the object that was made say of its maker, He did not make me, and of the one who molded it, say of the one who molded it, He has no understanding?

1. Do you believe in God?

1) Do you believe in the existence of God? : What kind of existence do you believe in?

- The existence of God through David's confession: Have you ever made such a confession?

(Psalm 139:1-8) “You have searched and knew me, O LORD; You know when I sit down and when I rise, You know my thoughts from afar; You see my way and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways, O LORD. There is not a single thing that is not ignorant of the words of the tongue. You put your hands around me and laid your hands on me. This knowledge is too marvelous for me, and it is too high for me to reach. and if I make my bed in hell, you are there.”

- Knows your actions, the motives of all language, actions, and actions.

* Nothing can be hidden from God, and there is nothing that cannot be revealed.

* God judges the things of darkness about what he does in secret.

* Trying to deceive God is just foolishness and foolishness.

* He has no choice but to act honestly before God, so it is regret and confession about secret things.

- God is the master of the universe and exists everywhere with power.

* Even if we do not want to walk with God, God never leaves us.

* He is present and oversees all places and circumstances, whether it is a place of praise or of crime.

* Because he is an invisible God, it is foolishness to do what my heart desires.

* It is a lamentation and honest confession of one's own actions

- He is omnipotent.

* It is foolish to think of yourself as wise and do what is right in your own opinion.

* Everything in the universe exists in God's purpose and knowledge, but the opposition is foolishness.

* Wisdom is obedience to the knowledge and word of God.

2. Our existence and God's holy will toward us: only worthy of obedience.

1) All beings in the world were created for God. : The Potter and the Mud

(Colossians 1:16) “By him all things were created. All things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, angels and spiritual beings, all things were created by Him and for Him” (Modern Bible).

- All beings in the world were created for their own thoughts in God's holy purpose.

* There is only one reason for the existence of all beings, for the purpose of God. : duty

* Everything that exists in the world has value when it fits the purpose of its existence.

* This is the same idea that everyone agrees on.

* People position people or objects according to their purpose.

* And when the existence loses its purpose, it is regarded as worthless and disposed of.

* People's conflicts are because the values of those who evaluate and those who receive are different. : Ignore

* All evaluations are only valued by the sovereign.

* David's confession acknowledged the value of his actions against the absolute sovereignty of God.

* Obedience to God constitutes the true value of our existence (life). : Responsible for one's duty

2) Many of our actions regard God as being for us.

- This is the same as clay judges the potter. : The main guest conducts

* We seek blessings by acting as we please and living as we see fit.

* Do you seek God for a life of obedience to God? Are we seeking our blessings?

* Is God's existence for our duty or our purpose?

* Are we enslaved (and bound) to God or is God enslaved to us?

* How do we recognize the initiative in our lives? Is it God or myself?

- In the text, Judas the South disobeyed God's command by deciding according to his own wisdom.

* He considered it too foolish to follow God's command in the current situation.

“Does the thing that was made say of the one who formed it, saying, He has no understanding?”

* Their decisions were based on human wisdom rather than divine command.

- In the record of the Bible, God's commands seemed reckless, but there was a way to victory when we obeyed them.

* The command to Noah to build a gigantic ark on land seemed reckless.

* To Gideon, the command to war with 300 men seemed reckless.

* Before the invasion of Canaan from the east side of the Jordan, the ceremony of circumcision seemed reckless.

* When they invaded Jericho, God's command seemed foolish.

3) To all Christians, God's Word is often regarded as unwise.

- Let's think about what we are

* Much of what happens to Christians is based on their own wisdom rather than the Bible.

* Many churchgoers follow the actions of those around them rather than the Word of God.

* While praising and giving thanks to God with our lips, the praise and thanksgiving are not connected to our lives.

* We serve and obey God with our heads, but it is difficult to act according to our hearts.

- Before the year is over, let's count ourselves as our duty according to God's purpose.

* Are you truly a Christian?

* Are you living as subject to God?

* Do you see God as a potter and you are clay?

* Are you living a confessional life of faith like David?
