Even though the back of his hand was smeared with black shoe polish, there was a boy whose eyes gleamed with hope. Because his father was imprisoned for a debt he owed, the boy had a hard time washing his shoes. The boy would sing instead of lamenting as he looked at the stars shining like jewels in the night sky.
Every time people who saw a boy on a street corner who was washing his shoes and singing until late at night asked, “Is it that good to polish your shoes?” the boy replied:
“Okay, I’m not polishing shoes, I’m polishing hope”
The boy who cultivated hope later became one of the world's leading British writers. This is the story of Charles Dickens, who wrote 'Oliver Twist'.
A person with hope is a living person and a person with a tomorrow But a person in despair is as good as dead even though he is alive. Even if we are faced with a life crisis that we cannot afford, and the pain of losing everything, if we can find hope in ourselves, that life can be renewed at any time.

First, believers have the hope of resurrection. It is the hope of eternal life given to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross.
The saints have the eternal heaven, that is, the eternal heavenly inheritance that is incorruptible, undefiled, and not destroyed. Our hope is not in material things, in business, or in health. Our hope is in heaven in faith. This hope in heaven is a living hope that no one can take away or break.
What hope is in your heart? First, fill our hearts with the hope of resurrection, the hope of heaven. Then we can live a life without despair in the face of any adversity or suffering in this world. Now, just as the stars shine brighter in the pitch-black darkness, we must become people who believe in and rely on God and dream of tomorrow's hope, even if the environment makes us suffer.
Prayer: God, no matter how difficult circumstances may be, keep hope in our hearts because of Jesus Christ. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen
