Title: Wisdom

In today's text, God told Abraham

“Lift up your eyes and look north, east, west, and north from where you are! I will give to you and to your descendants the land that you see, and it will last forever.”

So Abraham obeyed the promise and looked to the land, and eventually got the promised land.

God reaffirms His first promise to Abram, who will be lost in human loneliness after leaving his nephew Lot, whom he has been close with.

The land of Canaan that Abram was left with would not have looked so good.

Nevertheless, God confirms the land as the possession of Abram and his descendants, and promises that his descendants will be as numerous as the dust of the earth.

God tells Abram that he will give him every place that his feet touch.

Abram, having obtained the promise of land and descendants in this way, moved to the oaks of Mamre in Hebron, where he built an altar to the Lord and made it the base of his life.

God, who came to Abram and promised that he would give him all the land he lived in, comes to us today in every aspect of our daily life.

In the same way, when we see with faith, God works according to that faith.

Therefore, it is very important that we use this “wisdom of looking” in our religious life.

Then, what is the method for ‘wisdom of looking’?

There are four steps here.

The first is to clearly set the goals you want to look at.

We must first pray earnestly to God before we set goals to look forward to.

Then, as God instructed Abraham, He instructs us to the right goal, so that our hearts overflow with plans and desires that transcend human reason, faith and peace.

The second is to have high expectations for your goals.

You cannot receive any response from God without having a fervent expectation.

Therefore, we must set the right goals through prayer.

And after that, you have to have a burning wish and expectation to achieve that goal.

Yes Tue---I don't understand

There is a saying, “I saw a hawk as a pheasant,” as a proverb saying that a great person was mistakenly considered a criminal. One day, Zigong, a disciple of Confucius, heard a voice from a certain person criticizing the humble appearance of Confucius. “He had the appearance of an old Seonghyeon, but he looked tired and looked like a dog from a handsome house.” When he told this to Confucius, Confucius said, "I can't say that my face fits perfectly, but it's true that I look like a dog in a shopping mall. It must have been the ashes of a starving dog because he didn't take care of the dog in the handsome house." The Bible says, “Surely he bore our sorrows and bore our sorrows, but we thought that he was chastised, struck by God, and afflicted” (Isaiah 53:4). People at that time looked at it as a sinner. Ah! What a gross ignorance!

Third, have specific fantasies.

Illusion is drawing something that does not exist as if it were there.

So, if you want to achieve something,

I draw a vision of what has already been done in my mind, and while looking at it, admit with my mouth that it has been accomplished,

You have to constantly do things that give thanks to God.

Fourth, we must pray and make supplications day and night.

Prayer moves the hand of Almighty God.

When God's hand moves,

Human history and destiny will change.

Therefore, we need to be patient and pray earnestly until what we have seen in faith come true.

Do you want to receive God's blessing?

Then use “the wisdom of looking.”

When we do this, God will fulfill what we believe and expect.

He will surely make you live a blessed life like Abraham.

The words “I will give you and your descendants the land I see” (verse 15) gave Abram all the land that could be seen from the east, west, north, south, and east on the high ground between Bethel and Ai. He gave the good part of the land to Lot, but God gave it all to him.

The word "it will come forever" is an expression of God's promise that can never be changed, and the effect of the promise extends only to those who believe and accept it.

Yes Tue---Amazing

One theologian put it this way.

“There is nothing more surprising than this.

that we have entered this grace through Christ,

to settle there because of him, to establish his place there because of him,

that he was able to stand firm in him,

Knowing that we are safe forever, there is nothing more surprising to us than this.”

It really is. Now we shouldn't ask God to do more amazing things. Isn't this already surprising enough? We must never again be skeptical Christians.

I must not remain a skeptical Christian with doubting, hesitating, and hoping that someone will lead me.

Come boldly to the God who loves you more than I can imagine and who pleases you.

The God of all grace will pour out uninterrupted grace upon you.
