Title: Wisdom is calling / Proverbs 1:20-33

Content Wisdom is calling / Proverbs 1:20-33

Key Verse: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5).

Word: God appeared to someone. He promised to grant one wish whatsoever. This man pondered and asked me to bring him today's newspaper a year later. As soon as I received the newspaper, I opened the page showing the stock price. “Hey, the stock of this company goes down so badly after a year! This is a company I've never seen before, but the stock price seems to have skyrocketed since it was founded... “Money was all over the place. I liked it so much that I was folding the newspaper, and a major accident caught my eye. The accident happened the day before the publication date of the newspaper. But there was his name on the list of the dead.

The first thing that makes people foolish is greed, especially greed for wealth. Being greedy for things that aren't important and then missing out on things that are really important is the first of the regrets. Here's what Jesus told us. A man farmed and got a lot of crops. The warehouse was small, so several more warehouses were built and the grain was piled up. I felt so good that I said to myself: “I have been able to make a living without working for many years. Let's eat, play, and rest in peace.” Then God said to the rich man, “Tonight I will take your soul. Who will your wealth be?”

In the verse of Proverbs we meditate on today, wisdom is compared to a woman. This woman is crying in the street. “Abandon foolishness and pride, and seek wisdom!” Speak loudly in squares and markets. “Listen to the teaching and reproof of wisdom” but no one listens. Everyone is busy with my work. What is the life of those who ignore wisdom? It appears in verse 31. “Therefore, they will eat from the fruit of their deeds, and be satisfied with their own counsel.”

It was King Solomon who enjoyed everything that people wanted to enjoy in human history. When God asked for a wish, Solomon asked for only one thing. It was wisdom. God has given us not only wisdom, but also wealth and honor that we did not ask for. Let's become our wise family, our wise family.

Prayer: Above all, give me wisdom. Give me the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to make me wise. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
