Departing wisdom (Genesis 12:1-5)
I pulled out small saplings that had sprouted from under the dandelion tree in my hometown and planted them in the flower bed of the nursery.
When they grow big, the yellow tangja will open and the children will have fun picking and throwing them one by one.
God commanded Abraham to leave his hometown, relatives, and father's house.
It would have been difficult for me to leave my beloved hometown at the age of 75 at the time.
It would never have been easy to leave at an age to prepare for old age,
He would not have been very fond of God's promise to bless him.
But Abraham followed God's word and went away.
The reason that Abraham left his beloved hometown and stable place was because God had said it.
Hebrews 11:8, “By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went out to a land he was to receive as an inheritance.
They went out, not knowing where they were going.” They obeyed God's command.
A life of faith is a life of obedience to the Word of God.
When God obeys, he says, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you.
I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.”
This was the purpose of God's telling Abraham to leave.
So Abraham became the father of faith, and the descendants of faith were saved.
You will enjoy the eternal blessing of Abraham.
The problem is that it is difficult for us to live by obeying God's Word today.
This is because, in order to obey God's word, we must leave our present position and go to the land that God has promised.
First, it is difficult to leave home. If you go to church and listen to the Word and learn, you do not mature.
This is because they are entrenched in old lifestyles and worldly values.
So, like a frog in a well, they mistakenly think that all they have been through is living in a cage.
People with big dreams usually leave their hometowns early.
If you are caught up in a secular culture, you will never reach God.
Second, it is difficult to leave friends.
Even if you go to church, your faith does not go well and the reason you do not grow is because you are held by your friends in the world.
Even if you listen to the Word during worship and receive grace, you easily forget it while playing with your worldly friends because you like them.
Satan uses his friends to deceive and lead him into temptation.
Only when I get out of my friend can I live and save that friend later.
Third, it is difficult to leave my father. It is believed that children die if they leave their parents. However, it is a big problem if you try to depend on your parents even when you are young.
The great characters are those who left their parents' fences early.
If we do not get out of the sphere of influence of our parents, we cannot believe in God and it is difficult to lead a proper life of faith.
If you become independent religiously from an early age, you can be used as a great figure for the kingdom of God.
You can save your parents later.
Even if you go to church, if you are bound by worldly things and are led as slaves of Satan, you will surely commit a sin.
If you stay in the world, your faith will be corrupted and rotten.
The life of faith is a life that lives in the world, but does not stay in the world, but goes to eternal heaven.
The world doesn't last forever, so someday you'll have to let it all go.
Wisdom is a life that prepares you to leave without regrets when that time comes.
