Title: Wisdom to Overcome Adversity
Title: Wisdom to Overcome Adversity (Matthew 22:15-22)
I prayed in the face of adversity, and God made it possible for me to overcome it wisely.
Here Jesus also suffered adversity.
15Then the Pharisees went and discussed how they could enslave Jesus. 16 They sent their disciples to Jesus with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God in truth, and no one cares. 17 For then, tell us what you think, is it lawful or not to pay taxes to Caesar?
When we think about it, we would think that Jesus was in quite a crisis.
can.
It was a tax sensitive situation. It is the same today.. Tax evasion is common because of how to pay less tax.
However, those who are loyal to Herod are religious people who are trying to hold Jesus back because they wondered how to avoid paying a religious tax or offering.
What do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?" 18 Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said to them, "You hypocrites, why do you tempt me?
That is, they try Jesus. Either way, this is hypocrisy. We have to believe in Jesus, but we often put Jesus to the test. Let's see if Jesus helps or not
If we are faithful in the Lord's work, the Lord will help us or give us relief. This is eating out. You have to treat yourself as you please.
When Jesus was being crucified, Matthew 27:39 Those passing by shook their heads and insulted him, 40 saying, "You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, if you are the Son of God, save yourself and come down from the cross." 41 With him Likewise the chief priests mocked with the scribes and elders, saying, 42 He saved others, but he cannot save himself; he is the King of Israel. Come down from the cross now, and we will believe. It is a shallow inner secret that carries out one's thoughts and one's will.
This is eating out. It is not always our own will, but it is God's will to find and follow the will of the cross.
You are true and teach the way of God in truth, and no one cares, for you show no respect.
while they are eating out. And the Lord, knowing their wickedness, said, "You hypocrites, why do you tempt me?
19 He said, “Show me the money to pay the tax.” He brought a terranion. 20 Jesus said to him, “Who do these images and eagles belong to?” 21 “They are Caesars.”
Here is a glimpse of the great wisdom and authority of Christ. Neither this nor that, the third way.. I tell Caesar what is Caesar's, give to God the things that are God's.
1 Samuel 21:11 David fled from King Saul, and stood before Achish king of Gath, and the crowds danced and sang, "Did not Saul say that he had killed a thousand thousands and David ten thousand?" 12 David had these words in his heart, and the king of Gath. Achish was very afraid, 13 and he changed his behavior before them, pretending to be mad, grunting at the door, and dripping saliva on his beard, and David acted wisely. The saints must be wise. Matthew 10:16 James 1:5 Like Jesus, we hope that the precious work of overcoming adversity and wisdom will come.
