Title 2010, With the Lord (January 17, 2010)

Contents

Word: Psalm 147:10-20

Topic: 2010, With the Lord

10. The LORD takes no pleasure in the strength of words, nor in the legs of men.

11. He takes pleasure in those who fear him and those who hope in his mercy.

12. Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion.

13. He has secured the bars of my doors and has blessed the children among you.

14. He calms your grounds and fills you with fine wheat.

15. He sends his command to the earth, and his word runs swiftly.

16. He makes snow like wool, and scatters the frost like ashes.

17. He scatters hail like bread crumbs; who can bear the cold?

18. He sent his word to melt them, and to blow the wind, and the waters flow.

19. He shows his words to Jacob, and his statutes and ordinances to Israel.

20. You have done this to no other nation, and they did not know its ordinances. Hallelujah.

Repetition and balance are very important in the world as well as in the faith. When God created this world and created man, he achieved balance and harmony. He did not create only the male Adam, but the female as well. Asserting and pushing one side is not an aspect of balance. You can do a vocal prayer as if you were doing cutie, or you could praise loudly as if you were meditating. Faith, church life, and social life must be balanced and harmonious. In 2010, our lives must have a history of holistic recovery. Our souls and faith must be restored. The only way to restore is through God. Man is the object to be restored, not the subject.

After the fall of Adam, God made a new world that had no hope. To make new means to restore. In today's text, the poet also tells us that God restores.

First, he said that he would make the door bars strong.

No matter how tall and high the walls are, it will be of no use if the door latches are not strong. The gatekeeper is of no use unless God secures the bars of our doors. Solomon felt the same way. He said in the Psalms, "Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain, and unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman's watch is in vain." This truth applies equally today. If God is not with us, our lives can easily fall apart. It takes a long time to build, but it is easy to break down. We must remember Him who strengthens the bars of our doors and live a strong faith that does not fall.

Second, it is said to bring peace to the grounds.

Precincts means national borders. The enemy invades across the border. Shaking borders means danger to the country. National defense and security must be strictly observed. Solomon had many soldiers and powers to defend the borders and expand the country. Nevertheless, he confesses that everything will not be in vain only if God guards and intervenes. When we look to God with right faith and right attitude, He will fill us with beautiful wheat. You should expect and look forward to giving you the best of grace.

Third, you need to know how to recover.

If you look at verses 15 to 18 of today's text, you can see that the word 'word' is repeated. I hope you will believe in judgment, comfort, healing, and restoration through the Word. God has given us the Bible. That's the word we're talking about today. When we believe in the Word, the work of restoration will appear in our lives through the Word.

I hope 2010 will be a year in which we overcome and overcome everything by relying on, holding on to, and gaining strength from the Word that is sweeter than honey and is a lamp on our path of life, that heals, restores, and saves us.
