< Our Father in Heaven (Matthew 6:9-13)
<
< Dear friends! The Lord's Prayer is a perfect prayer as an example of prayer. It is perfect to cover all prayers. Theologian Mo said, "This perfect condensing of all prayers in a few short and concise sentences proves that the One who spoke is the Almighty." It is saying that Jesus could not teach such a perfect prayer without the Almighty. As a way of prayer, the Lord told us not to pray hypocrisy or repeat prayers, but to go into your inner room, your most holy place, and pray alone with God, trusting in God who will surely answer you with something better. The Lord then taught us the content of prayer. This morning, I would like to share with you the words of our prayer, “Our Father who art in heaven.” "Our Father who art in heaven" - This is the word that taught us the object of prayer. The most important thing when praying is the object of prayer. Who you pray to is what matters.
<
I. father
<
< The Lord called the God who is the object of our prayers “Father.” To call God Father is a title that our Lord has taught us in a new sense. Of course, it is not without the idea that God is the Father in the Old Testament. However, in the Old Testament, there is no instance where God is called Father when praying.
But our Lord always called God Father when he prayed. “Father, Lord of heaven and earth, we thank you for hiding these things from the wise and prudent and revealing them to little children” (Matthew 11:25).
<
In the prayer of the high priest in John 17, 36 times the word father is used interchangeably with the son. Also, the Lord taught his disciples to pray, calling God “Father” and praying. The rulers of the world want to exalt themselves if possible. However, our God wants us to narrow the relationship between God and us when we come before God, so that we can come out as a father-child relationship. What is the closest and most beautiful title when we humans call on God? "Father". A person who can call God Father in this world and appear as a child before God! No one is happier than this.
<
Dear all! By accepting Jesus Christ, we are qualified to call God our Father. When you pray, call God “Father” and pray.
<
II. Father in Heaven
<
< The word “in heaven” refers to the sovereignty and reign of God. Here, heaven means the place where God's throne is biblically, and where God's reign is being exercised. What does it mean that God is in heaven? It means the Almighty God, the God who sees life, the God who rules all the history of life. Also, the word "Father in heaven" is a word that distinguishes it from the father on earth and the father of the flesh. All humans are imperfect. His role as a father to his children is bound to be incomplete.
<
There are many cases where the fatherhood is not properly done. Fathers on earth do not last forever. I have no choice but to leave this world behind my beloved children. There are limits to their abilities, so they truly love their children, and even if they want to do something, they often cannot do it because they do not have the strength or ability. But our Father in heaven is Almighty God. He is a God of infinite love and mercy. God is infinite in wisdom and power. Everyone! May we thank this God for being our Father.

<
< Dear friends! What problems do we have today? May you come to God who is rich in grace and love and mercy and compassion. And I ask you to sing and pray, “Our Father in heaven,” as the Lord has taught us. Heavenly Father, Almighty Father, Loving Father will comfort you. He will heal you, solve your problems, refresh you, and answer you. I pray that the blessing of calling Almighty God as Father be with us all.
