Title: Words of Salvation/Acts 13:25-41

Content Sermon Title The Word of Salvation

Preacher Kim Jo

The Bible Acts 13:25-41

First, the subject of salvation is God.

Salvation cannot be obtained by any human merit or good works, but is entirely a work of God's grace. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this does not come from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).

1. Innocent Jesus died on the cross and was buried in a tomb. (verses 27-29)

2. He broke the tomb and was resurrected. (verses 30-37)

Second, we must live by faith alone. (verses 38-41)

By the law, the corporation of works, no one will be justified by you; but everyone who believes in Jesus Christ is justified (verse 39) so that whoever believes in God's only begotten Son died on the cross and rose again, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16) Now, we must live by faith. If you live by faith,

1. You will receive forgiveness of sins. (verse 38)

When we believe in a sin problem that cannot be solved by any other means, God solves it, forgives us cleanly, and Jesus bears the price of sin. My sins are forgiven only through faith, not through my strength or talent.

2. You will be justified. (verse 39)

There is no one who can be justified by perfect works (Romans 3:10,21). Only through faith we receive forgiveness of sins, and moreover, God acknowledges us as righteous. Since God is holy, he has made us holy so that we may be together with God. How grateful and moved is this?

3. Become a child of God. (verse 33)

Psalm 2 “You are my son” He acknowledged. “He who believes has given the right to become children of God” (John 1:12). You have become God's children through faith alone, and if you are a child of God, you will inherit God's inheritance. I want to become a saint who carries on the love, power, and work of God.

4. You will have eternal life. (Verse 48)

“Everyone who was ordained to eternal life believed.” You will be given the privilege of living with God for eternity. How much is this eternal life that humans long for? You get it when you believe.

Third, what does it mean to believe?

Faith is not a form or a theory or knowledge. Faith without works is dead in itself (James 2:7). Dead faith is useless. Because we believe in the gospel, just as Jesus died on the cross, we must be crucifiers with wrong thoughts, lives and methods (Galatians 5:24). Believing is to be thoroughly and to be resurrected with a new appearance, attitude, and thought just as Jesus was resurrected. Faith is trusting and relying on Jesus, leaving all my worries, anxieties and loneliness to Jesus, I go to where He went, I do what He did, I do what He said, I practice according to His words, and I show His love. Living faith is living faith. I want to become a saint who changes the world with this faith.

I will finish speaking.

To those who are forever destroyed, God has given the word of salvation. Salvation means that he rescued us who were given to us after being destroyed. He cleansed us from the sins of the past, protected and guides us in the present, and has already delivered us from the eternal judgment of fire in the future so that those who believe can become citizens of the eternal kingdom of heaven. This is salvation. Now that you have given us these words of salvation, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will enjoy the privileges as children of God with certain faith and become the protagonists of a blessed life both physically and spiritually.
