Title: Words of the Cross
Contents
Although Jesus spoke many words during His ministry, the seven words (virtual seven words) He spoke on the cross summarized the entire ministry of Jesus.
Now, let's look at the seven words of the Lord spoken on the cross.
1. Father, forgive them (Luke 23:34)
Before Jesus, no one called God Father. But Jesus called him that way, and now he has given us the privilege of calling God (Dad) Father.
2. Today you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23:43)
At the same time and in the same place, one was granted paradise and the other was abandoned. How many of these are there today? Indeed, “the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).
3. Woman, look, you are your son... Behold, it is your mother (John 19:26-27)
Jesus is the descendant of a woman. Because of the sin of disobedience, Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden, but God made a promise to them that would be fulfilled in the future.
4. Eli Eli Lama Sabachthani (Matthew 27:46)
Jesus called God his merciful Father, but now he calls him “my God.” That is, God is the judge. God is judging Jesus for sin through this darkness.
5. I am thirsty (John 19:28)
6. It is finished (John 19:30)
It was no coincidence that Jesus was conceived in the body of a virgin. All the work from birth was not an accident, but He accomplished all the things that were part of God's plan of salvation.
7. I entrust my soul into the Father's hands (Luke 23:46)
Now again, Jesus is doomed by calling God the Father. As the only begotten Son of God, Jesus has an inseparable relationship with God. Now he is leaving everything in the hands of his merciful Father.
Through these words, we must understand the work of Jesus and live a life worthy of the work of Jesus.
First, Jesus asked for forgiveness through the cross and gave us a life of forgiveness.
Second, the gospel must be preached diligently.
Third, it must be caring for the weak.
Fourth, we must live with the seriousness of sin always in mind.
Fifth, it must be a life that fulfills the Word.
Sixth, we must fulfill the mission given to us.
Seventh, we must live with everything in Heavenly Father's hands.
Jesus came to restore our lives. Therefore, in that grace, looking at the glory, let's walk the path of glory as a child of God that fulfills the word of the Lord.
