Title: Worship (1) / Genesis 4:1~9
(Hebrews 12:16-17) “Fear the fornicators, and perhaps there are any who are vain like Esau, who sold the birthright for a bowl of food; as you know, after that, he weeps and asks for a blessing. But they have been rejected, and there is no opportunity for repentance.” What we need to know is that our faults or shortcomings are not the problem, and we are not offering true worship before God. When worship is successful, what you lack becomes a strength and a blessing, and those who say you have your strength and possess it will fail and be destroyed.
(2 Corinthians 12:9) "He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Ham." Worship comes from the sacrificial system. For all mankind, the sacrificial system has taken an important place in life. The reason that mankind is spiritually corrupted is the wrong sacrificial system. God's attributes include love and justice. He has 'justice' and 'love' that allows human beings to be judged without escaping God's punishment for their sins. Because the wages of sin is death, the way that has opened up the path of forgiveness for people who have no choice but to die is the sacrificial system. Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the law of the knowledge of sin in one hand and the tabernacle system in the other hand to perform the sacrifice for forgiveness of sins. It is our Lord who has completed this. Our Lord took the place of death for the sins of mankind and made mankind to live by dying and rising again. This is the gospel.
(Hebrews 10:11) “Every priest stands and serves every day, and often offers the same sacrifice, but this sacrifice cannot at any time take away sins.” Therefore, we who believe in Jesus no longer call ourselves a sacrifice, but we worship because I am the sacrifice.
(Romans 12:1) “Therefore, brethren, I beseech you by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” It is written that he accepted the sacrifice offered by Abel. In other words, Cain's worship failed and Abel's worship succeeded. Let's see what kind of sacrifices God accepts and what sacrifices God doesn't.
1. Offer yourself as a sacrifice.
(Genesis 4:4-5) "Abel himself also offered the firstlings and their fat, and the Lord accepted Abel and his offering, but did not accept Cain and his offering." this is what it should be Therefore, my life should be worship. God received Abel to honor God in his life. A life that honors God in life is worship. (Acts 10:2) "He was devout and feared God with all his household, and gave many alms to the people, and prayed to God all the time." He always showed respect to God with alms and prayers, both outside and within himself. God blesses and uses those who sacrifice themselves for worship and those who give their lives. (1 Corinthians 10:31) “Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God.”
2. You must offer a separate offering
He did not accept Cain's offering, but accepted Abel's. Considering Abel's sacrifice he received, first, he gave the firstborn of a sheep. Most of the first things are precious and cherished. You have to have the sincerity to give the first thing. You must have the devotion to give your most precious and important things in your life of faith. Second, they gave oil. Oil trades at the highest price. Giving God the best value I have. When that happens, God repays me with the best. Third, I gave blood. Abel learned to sacrifice with blood. Blood is associated with Jesus Christ. It is faith in the Savior, faith that the Lord has given everything, and faith in Jesus. Fourth, I gave by faith. You must have faith and offer your gift. We must confess every day that the driving force behind everything we live is God's grace and offer the gift of faith every day. Let's take a look at the blessings we get through the worship service that continues next week.
