Title: Worship and Faith/Matthew 8:1~4

Content Worship and Faith/Matthew 8:1 4

“When Jesus came down from the mountain, a great crowd followed him. A leper came and bowed… ” (Matthew 8:1-4)

Word: Jesus taught us the kingdom of God and spiritual truth through the Sermon on the Mount. Also, while Jesus was on this earth, He performed many miracles and the people followed Him. They saw miracles and followed Jesus to hear wonderful words. If you look at the words of today's text, a leper from the crowd appears to Jesus. Coming to Jesus means that you have met Jesus. There are many people who want to meet the Lord while living their faith. Where should we meet the Lord? We need to meet the Lord by going to church and worshiping God. Today, this leper follows Jesus to where he is and meets Jesus. When he met Jesus, the leper “prostrated himself” and said, “Lord.”

Bowing down means humble worship. A brief summary of worship is an encounter with the Lord. Are you meeting the Lord through worship? Is it not that only the body comes to the church to provide formal worship that has nothing to do with the mind? The reason this leper was able to be healed today is because he humbled himself and bowed down to the Lord. In order to become a people who can receive miracles, we too must first come to church diligently and become beautiful worshipers who humbly bow down to the Lord every time we worship.

When we become such worshipers, the Lord understands our hearts. Why did this leper come to Jesus today? I came out to be healed. When the leper said, “If you wish, you can make it clean,” the Lord healed him. According to the Old Testament, leprosy was an unclean disease, so it was a terrible thing that could not be seen in front of people.

But today this leper finds faith boldly coming to Jesus and prostrate himself. You and I must have faith to bow down before the Lord. They want to come to Jesus to solve all their problems and heal their diseases. If we do not humble ourselves before God and think vaguely about the Lord, we cannot receive answers to our prayers. The Lord tells the cleansed man to give the gift that Moses commanded and testify. I ask you, in the name of Jesus, to be healed like this leper today and to testify to many people.
