Title: Worship in Spirit and Truth
Hymns: 219
Today's text is a conversation Jesus had with a woman he met in a village called Sychar in Samaria while he was leaving Judea and going to Galilee.
The woman hears Jesus speaking accurately about her husband and calls Jesus a prophet.
He said that his ancestors worshiped on the mountain, but the Jews had heard that the place to worship was in Jerusalem.
So Jesus said that the time will come when we will worship only to God the Father, not in Jerusalem or in the mountain that the Samaritans used to worship.
In other words, it is not the place where the worship is held according to the formality that is the problem, but the heart of worship.
Jesus said that worship to God must be worship in spirit and truth.
In other words, he pointed out that we worship God blindly without knowing who He is.
He also spoke of the fault of the Samaritans, who only knew the Pentateuch as the Word of God.
So, how should we worship?
First, we must worship with a spiritual heart.
This means to worship with a holy and serious attitude.
We must offer our prayers with a holy heart, not only for Sunday worship, but also for all services such as the Three Day Prayer Meeting, the Friday Prayer Meeting, and the Early Morning Prayer Meeting.
Especially on the Saturday before the week, you should not be swept away by worldly affairs as much as possible.
So, to cleanse your body and mind physically and spiritually and worship on Sunday will be holy and sincere worship.
Otherwise, if you are swept away by all the things of the world, you will become spiritually turbid and it is difficult to get out of that turbidity.
Second, we must truly worship
This means that we must worship God with the right knowledge of God with longing for the truth.
Authenticity also means to be genuine.
What is truth?
Truth is the Word of God.
We must yearn for the word of God.
You must want to live according to God's will.
We must pray to live by the word of God.
There are many religions in this world.
There are also many self-proclaimed saviors
There are many heresies.
So many heresies, self-proclaimed Saviors, and other religions are not true. In modern science, what they claim to be scientific cannot be the truth.
Only the Word of God is the truth.
Catholics who serve God like us have a different argument from us.
The most representative of these concerns the worship of Mary and the Eucharist and Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.
Mary's Worship
Transubstantiation of the Eucharist
theory of evolution
These things can never be true.
Just as God's word is spoken in our Bible, we must believe, follow, and practice it.
Only then can we worship and pray in spirit and in truth.
You must always live a spiritually clear life.
Even if it is difficult and difficult and tribulation and persecution come, we must stand firm and move forward without being disturbed spiritually.
I will pray
