Bible: Matthew 2:1-12
Also, they were very pure people. I came all the way to Jerusalem, but I didn't know where I was, so I went to the royal palace and asked. If you don't know, ask. Also, they prepared in advance. In ancient customs, when people went to see the king, they always prepared a gift. You cannot go empty-handed. Once upon a time, when Christmas came, we prepared to greet the dawn song. Christmas lights were also hung on the door, sweets were prepared, hot sikhye was prepared, and straw island was prepared for the campfire. When the choir came home, they opened the door wide and greeted them with warm applause. I prepared a lot. This was more than just welcoming the early morning choir, it was a pure and clean heart to welcome the baby Jesus. The Sunday School has been diligently preparing dances and praises for at least a month. When you go out to see the Lord, you need to be prepared. You also need to prepare your mind.
Finally, they opened the treasure chest.
The wise men loved Jesus. Love is self-giving. If you love without giving, it is love that stays on the tip of your tongue. Here is the loving devotion of the Magi. Gold, frankincense and myrrh were offered to the baby Jesus. They did not spend this precious thing for themselves, but gave it to the Lord. Where does our treasure house take place? Isn't it generous to be open to other things while being stingy with the Lord? Love is giving the most precious thing.
What would you give the Lord? Like the wise men in the East, why not give the most precious thing as a gift? Let's open up the treasure that the Lord wants. May it be a Christmas in which we give our lives precious and fragrant like gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the Lord. Amen.
