glorify God
A great revival is coming to the church.
It will be a year of great blessings and God's glory to the members of the church.
Our God is a calling God. God has called people from the time of Adam, the first human being. God is calling us today. In today's Bible verse, we can hear the voice of God calling Abraham. That calling marked a turning point in Abraham's life. God's voice makes a turning point in our lives. Meeting God makes a new beginning in my life. I pray that you will be able to live while listening to God's voice a lot in 2011.
Today in Genesis 22, God called Abraham to test (test) (verse 1). He called it a test, but he called the fact to bring great blessings (verses 15-18). Every call from God has a blessing. However, sometimes the blessing doesn't seem like a blessing. God called Abraham and told him to offer Isaac as a burnt offering. It is a scene that can be thought of as ‘God taking away my things’ or ‘God taking away my precious things. But that's not really the case. The Bible clearly states that He was called to be tested (tested). In fact, it was later revealed that God had called him to bless.
Abraham became a successful worshiper before God. He was able to become a successful worshiper because he immediately obeyed when he heard the voice of God (verse 3). Abraham believed in God (verse 8, cf. Hebrews 11:17-19) and Abraham's obedience was complete obedience (verses 9-11). What is belief? Faith is a decision to obey. It is a decision to obey whatever God commands. It is because we can believe in God even if we do not understand all the will of God. Faith is not aimed at success or all-or-nothing. There is a goal to follow Jesus, and there is a goal to obey Jesus' words. But, surprisingly, at that very moment, God's blessings overflowed. God called Abraham a second time. That call was a call to pour out blessings. (Read verses 17 and 18). God's blessings are reserved for places of worship and obedience. 2011! Actively participate in all worship services and bless you to enjoy the glory of God. Amen.
