Title: Worship that pleases God (Romans 12:1)
What is worship?
What kind of grace does God give you through worship?
The first is the forgiveness of sins. All problems in our lives are due to sin. Our emptiness, our lack of joy, our lack of peace, our meaningless life, our sickness, and all our problems come because of the sin that started with Adam and Eve. Therefore, the sin must be resolved first. In Mark 2, when the Lord heals the paralytic, He first declares, 'Your sins are forgiven.' As we repent and worship God, God forgives our sins through the merits of the blood of Jesus Christ. This is the first grace of God.
The second is the grace of the Holy Spirit. In John 7, Jesus goes up to Jerusalem and preaches to the people of Israel. 'If anyone is thirsty, come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the bible says, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.' It is no longer the water of Siloam, but the grace of the Holy Spirit flowing from our belly. Please believe in this mystery through worship. If you interpret this verse, this is it. The church is the body of Jesus. We are believers in Jesus Christ. We are worshiping our God now. It is a fact that those who come to worship by believing in the merits of the cross of Jesus Christ will be washed with the blood of Jesus Christ and receive the grace of the Holy Spirit. The presence of the Holy Spirit will bring you peace, joy, and confidence. This is the principle of worship.
What is the attitude of worship that pleases God?
Second, it is an attitude of longing. Psalm 42:1-2 says, “As the deer longs for streams of water, so my soul thirsts for you, O God. My soul longs for God, the living God. When will I go out to see God?' The psalmist is looking for God. These words are 'God give me grace, I need to receive grace, I need to see God, I need to give glory' This is the message to attend the worship service with this kind of heart. That's when God gives you grace. Many people lose this longing and come to church. So even if a sermon is only 5 minutes long, I get annoyed. They do not want to hear the word of God. Following my religious beliefs, I go to church because I think I will be severely punished if I don't go to church on Sunday. Even so, going to worship at least once fills my religious spirit, and I just come to church because I need to depend on God for something more comfortable. Therefore, the sermon does not come to our ears and only messy thoughts come and go, and there is no grace.
Third, it is an attitude of dedication. Through worship, some people put a lot of bills before God. But worship is offering to God. Giving something of value to God. It is to glorify God. God made us live. God made me receive grace today. You made me win today. God made money. It made me worship God. I hope you have this thanks and confession. This is dedication. Please worship with that kind of heart. The glory of God will come. There will be joy. There will be peace. We will all be able to feel the spiritual change that God gives us through worship. We must believe in this principle. When you donate to God, let's not do it with stinginess. Let's believe according to the Bible. Let us believe according to God's ordinances. It is a word to believe while confessing that the things of God are the things of God.
Dear brothers and sisters, in a world where worship is increasingly neglected, let's worship more and more that pleases God. With repentance, longing, devotion, and the right attitude of worship to receive blessings and dispatch, and having a personal encounter with God through worship, I hope that you will live a blessed life in which you live in the grace of the Holy Spirit.
