Title: Worship that Raises People

Bible Text: Jeremiah 1:4-10
Worship that builds up people
Everyone has a sense of inferiority. There is also a saying, “Joshua complex” to be honest. Joshua also has a sense of inferiority. Inferiority arises from comparison. Comparing him with Moses makes him feel inferior. But Moses also felt inferior. I don't know how to speak. I said no.
Jeremiah was also oppressed by a sense of inferiority. “I am a child,” he said, “I do not know how to speak.” Moses did not know how to speak, but God made him a leader. Jeremiah said he was a child, but God raised him to become a great prophet.
For the pole to do its job, the carpenter must cut and carve it. There is no lumber that serves as a pillar except through the hands of a carpenter. God makes people like a carpenter's hand. With the same hand that raised Moses and Jeremiah, He also raised us.
God is calling me.
“The word of the LORD came to me” (verse 4). God speaks to me to build me up. I am built up by hearing his words. We do not stand on our own, but God builds us.
There is a saying among pansori people who say, “You have to have an ear myeongchang to be a sori singer”. It is said that you have to listen well first to become a master singer and to reach the level of mastery.
When young Samuel was lying in the house of the Lord, the Lord called Samuel. Samuel! Samuel! A voice calling was heard. This is how he answers the voice of God who calls him. “Samuel said, Speak, and your servant will hear” (1 Samuel 3:10). The words that came to Samuel made him a prophet.
In the Old Testament times, when Aaron and his sons received the priesthood, they sanctified them by sprinkling the blood of a ram on their right earlobe (Exodus 29:20). What does that mean? The priest's ears are consecrated to obey God's word.
When people believe in and respect themselves, they achieve their full potential. Commonly referred to as princess soldiers or prince soldiers, believing in yourself and respecting yourself, Empowerment is when you trust and respect others. The goal is to help the other person show their skills, confidence, and motivation to the fullest. God believes in us and respects us. He calls me by saying that I can do something even though I am immature and lacking in little things.
When the word comes, the word comes. “Come” means “to come” or “to meet”. The word of God must come to me and face me. You have to face it face to face. The word “coming” means that the word has reached me. The word must reach me and the word must cover me.
When the word comes to me, I am built up.
God overcomes me.
Worship that raises people requires God to overcome me. I am not right, God must be right. Jeremiah said, “O LORD, because you persuaded me, I was persuaded; and since you were stronger than me and overcame me, I became a mockery…” (Jeremiah 20:7). To say that the Lord persuaded me to overcome means that the Lord persuaded me and prevailed.
When God has to overcome me, it is what God wants me to do. In the debate between the point of view of God and the point of view of me, God must win.
“Come, let us reason together, though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18).
Let's argue with each other! This is God's suggestion. It's about trying to figure out who's right and who's wrong.
God spoke to Jeremiah. “Before I formed you in the womb, I set you apart, and I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” (verse 5). It is said to have been set apart for God's purpose.
God sees through Jeremiah's past, from the past to the present, and from now to the future. He said that he knew, set himself apart, and established it while looking at the things that are to come, until today.
Jeremiah could not understand the Word of God. If you have appointed me as a prophet, how do I become a prophet? Nonsense! “I said, Alas, Lord GOD, I do not know how to say, I am a child” (verse 6).
Jeremiah calls himself a child. The rabbis interpret the word “child” as fourteen years old. Ayran doesn't have enough knowledge yet. I'm still inexperienced. I'm not confident yet. He was by nature a soft-hearted and shy person. I say I am a child because of fear and anxiety.
“And the LORD said to me, “Do not say you are a child; to whomever I send you, you go, and whatever I command you, you must speak” (verse 7).
He tells you to go to whomever you send it, and to say whatever you command. Be bold! Don't be intimidated! You don't even have to make excuses! I'm not making a cowardly plea that I can't! I don't deserve it. He says that I am not a talented person and that I should not back down.
“Do not be afraid of them; I am with you and will save you” (verse 8).
When you speak, you must listen. When giving orders, you must obey. When you make a promise, you must trust it. If God knocks you down, you must fall. God knocks them down to raise them up. Worship that is established is that God is stronger than me and persuades me to win. God's victory is the success of worship and worship that builds us up.
God has established me.
‘To build up’ means to ‘raise up’. “To set up” implies “to fix firmly”.
“The Lord stretched out his hand and touched my mouth, and said to me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth” (verse 9). It's to release power and build people up. to build me up.
God's hand goes to Jeremiah's mouth. He touched his mouth and said, “I have put my words in your mouth.” It is the power of God that has been put in your mouth. From now on, Jeremiah's power comes out of his mouth. God spoke to Jeremiah to make him a prophet.
“Behold, this day I have set you over the nations, and I have caused you to uproot, to destroy, to ruin, to overthrow, to build and to plant” (verse 10).
Until now, Jeremiah was just a young child of Anathoth, but from now on, he has been appointed as a prophet of God. He is God's representative.
The name “Jeremiah” means “Jehovah Exalted.” It is not that I am exalted on my own, but that God exalts me. Jesus said, “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
“For the exaltation is neither from the east nor from the west, nor from the south, but God the Judge humbles the one and exalts the other” (Psalm 75:6-7).
Speaking of east and west, why is there no north? North in Hebrew implies “hidden, mystical.” The height is that it does not come from the east, west or south, but from the north, secretly. The work of exaltation is in the mysterious hands of the invisible God.
Who is God exalting?
You must be a builder. God raised Elijah, who was discouraged and wanted to die, and commanded him, “Go to Damascus and anoint Hazael to be king… and anoint Elisha to be a prophet in your place” (1 Kings 19:15). -16) said. Building up is the work of those who have been appointed.
Those who have been established by God must become builders. God established David as king, and David established the kingdom God had entrusted to him. Let us all build houses, churches, and nations. Those who have been raised to life must live. Those who have been healed must become the healers.
It's the picker. Just like plucking out rotten teeth, we must uproot the roots of evil that our enemies have planted. We have to waste the land and uproot trees that do not bear fruit. It is to uproot the bitter root. To become a picker of wrong traditions and evil practices.
It must be destroyed and destroyed. Destruction is breaking and ruin is shattering. The purpose of destruction is for new construction. The old house must be destroyed to build a new house in its place. God defeated Jacob and established Israel.
must be planted. Those who have been ordained by God must do the work of planting. God tells you to plant. He gave the seeds of the gospel and gave them a field to plant. The kingdom of heaven is compared to someone who sows mustard seeds in his field. We plant and God makes it grow.
Worship that is built up is worship that is graceful.
receiving the word. It is listening to the voice of God calling me. Don't listen with your ears, listen with your heart. The words you hear with your ears must be imprinted in your brain.
God must persuade me to overcome and conquer me. I hope that you will raise me from the position of disbelief in myself. Wake up from the cell of fear.
It is a worship service where God has established me and sent me to become a person who takes the place of God. May God raise you up today.
