Yeongam Church Prayer School (23)

Hannah's Prayer (1 Samuel 1:10-14) 2002.11.27.

Hannah is Samuel's mother. Samuel in the history of Israel

who played a very important role. Samuel's position is the first and last judge in Israel's history. Judges were usually engaged in their work as commoners,

A person who becomes a leader when something big happens to the country, that is, a person who takes on the role of a leader only in times of crisis rather than a regular leader, is called Sasa.

The reason there are judges is because God is king. God is always in control, and we usually live the same life, but we need a central point,

When a crisis strikes, we have to unite around one person, and the person who came out at that time was Sasa. So most of the time he is a military leader in war, and in peacetime

When the time came, he did not completely return to the common people, but because of his influence, he was a person who took charge of judgment among people or provided religious education and exhortation.

But the last of these judges is Samuel. Immediately after the judges, he enters the period of monarchy, so Samuel closes the door of the period of the judges and begins the period of the monarchy.

It plays a very important role in the history of its opening. There are three most important kings in Israel, among them the anointed of Saul and David.

it's samuel Samuel was a spiritual leader at that time, and he acted like a lighthouse in the dark times. invaluable spiritually and politically

It was Samuel who took on the role.

In order for humans to live in this world, there is not only comfortable work, but sometimes pain and adversity come.

But we should not be discouraged because God has a mysterious will in our suffering. Suffering causes the saints to pray,

It is God's mysterious training method that strengthens faith and awakens the sleeping soul. The great men of faith appearing in the Bible always pray for suffering.

overcame and won. Then, we will look at the exemplary prayer of Hannah, who received a solution through prayer in the midst of suffering.

1. Weeping

prayed

1 Samuel 1:10 “Hannah was troubled and prayed to the Lord and wept” Psalm 126:5-6 “Weeping”

Those who sow in tears will reap with joy; those who go out weeping to sow seed will surely return with joy, carrying the sheaf."

: Just as parents cannot help but be weak in the face of the cry of their children, so when God prays with his people tears, his heart will be healed.

He moves and answers the prayers of his children.

2. I made a vow and prayed

1 Samuel 1:11

"And he made a vow, saying, O LORD of hosts, if you will look on your maidservant's affliction and remember me and do not forget your maidservant and give her a son, then I will

I will give him to the LORD, and I will not put a razor on his head."

Psalm 15:4-5 "His eyes despise the false, and those who fear the LORD

He is honorable, and the one who vows in his heart is harmful, but does not change, does not pay interest, accepts a bribe, and does not harm the innocent.

He will never be shaken."

Hannah prayed and asked for a son, and at the end she prayed like this. At the end of verse 11, “a son

If you do, I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and I will not put a razor on his head.”

Please." He prayed more and more and said, "I will dedicate this son to you. I will raise this child for God's sake." So the prayer changes.

While praying from the standpoint of fulfilling desires, she now gains an eye to discern God's will, and Hannah's prayer itself changes. Change your purpose in life by praying

became So greed changed and became a vow. Here, he realized his mission and that it is God's grace and purpose to nurture him and give it to God

learned Through the absence of children, children are what they are, and children are a gift from God. Then, how should I raise this child?

learned. that we must grow with the word of God. So Hannah realized that eventually she had to give it to God. This greed is in prayer

It will turn into a vow.

The reason why vows are so important is that when we are most humble, our thoughts before God are expressed as vows. very

When people are desperate and embarrassed, when they humble themselves before God, they make a vow. That is how pure and sensitive it is. “Salvation is grace and blessing is

It's credit."

: In order for the saints to receive continued grace and blessings before God, once they have made a vow and decided to

You have to be responsible for anything. Then God works. Isn't your heart often shaken? An unchanging heart, a clean heart

pray for Psalm 108:1 - 'I have made up my heart, O God; I will sing and praise with my soul.'

3. Praying for a Long Time in the Temple

1 Samuel 1:12 "He prayed long before the Lord,

while Eli noticed his mouth."

Luke 2:36-37 "There was also a prophet named Anna, daughter of Banuel of the tribe of Asher, who was very old.

After she left home, she lived with her husband for seven years, and became a widow for eighty-four years. This man did not leave the temple, but served by fasting and praying day and night.”

It is said to be a house where all people pray (Matthew 11:17) and it is said to be the dwelling place of God (Exodus 25:6). therefore

Although God is everywhere, He is pleased with those who come to His temple to pray. Therefore, we must live a life that is close to the church, the temple of the Lord.

4. I prayed spiritually.

1 Samuel 1:13 "Hannah spoke to herself, and her lips moved.

Because his voice was not heard, Eli thought he was drunk."

is not lacking no matter how much emphasis is placed on it. you are deep

The Holy Spirit is at work when we strive for prayer.

Ephesians 6:18 “With all prayer and supplication, praying in the Holy Spirit always, watch and ask for it always.

1 Corinthians 14:15 “What then shall I do? I pray with the spirit, and I pray with the heart;

I will praise you with my heart."

The most common pattern of God's response is to be given by the Word. A healthy pattern of faith is that I

Ask and ask God through prayer, and God through worship through the Word. you answer me Sometimes while listening to a sermon or reading the Bible,

That's it. When I bump into that, it's God's answer to my prayer now. Those who do not understand this as an answer can lead a life of true faith.

I can't help but make it hard Because I don't think of it as an answer until everything is done according to my will. But God made us pray,

It takes time to be fulfilled for various reasons, but it gives prompt answers to those prayers. through the word. we ask in prayer

You must receive answers through the Word. So God now hears Hannah's prayer, opens her mouth, and gives birth to a child, whose name is Samuel.

It means 'God has heard'. Pray for a better son. God heard and gave a son. So, Shemuel, give it a name that God has heard
