Title: You Are Dust (Genesis 03:19)
Contents God told Adam, who sinned, to return to dust because you are dust. It is easy to misunderstand these words to mean that humans do not have a soul and die from dirt and become dust. However, this can be interpreted as a re-emphasis on the importance of the flesh. Serving God by living in the flesh is an opportunity given only once, and in the end, only that is the object of eternal judgment. The Lord also said in John 9:4, “For the time is still day, and we will do the works of him who sent me; and the night is coming, when no one can work.” But when this work of the flesh is finished, the body will return to dust. Therefore, we can see that the grace of God given to Adam, who sinned, is God's love that makes the sinful body return to dust by not eating the fruit of life.
1. Meaning of returning to dust
2. The word “return to dust” refers to the futility of a sinful life.
Life is like grass, and its glory is like the flowers of the grass. Life is like a mist that comes and goes, and life is like a stranger and a passerby. Life cannot overcome death. But the saints are not only strangers, but pilgrims of the world. Pilgrims come with a purpose, live for that purpose, and go for that purpose. Although life is short, those who keep their faith and live as beautiful as flowers, God has prepared their hometown. Although flowers fall, it is precious because it bears fruit, and it is necessary to live with a stranger, and since a pilgrim must come with a purpose, he must stand before God and lead a noble life where he can make a report.
3 . Return to the dust indicates that in life there is a tent house and an eternal house.
