Text: Jeremiah 33:1 - 11
Title: You Call Me
The text is the word of the Lord being heard in Jeremiah's ears when Jeremiah was imprisoned in the court of the guards. The content is that the people of Judah were taken captive in Babylon, but they will return to Jerusalem after their captivity ends. This is truly surprising given the circumstances at the time. Because 70 years had already passed since the people of Judah were taken captive in Babylon, the people of Judah seemed hopeless. While they were captured and held captive, the Jerusalem Temple, their spiritual support, was destroyed beyond words, and they were walking on a path of decline, like the temple of the Gentiles, and those who remained in Jerusalem managed to succeed in the temple. It was said that they would go out and offer a sacrifice, but this was also a sacrifice offered by imperfect people, and it was absolutely unclean, and it was impossible for God to accept such a sacrifice.
The situation at that time was nothing but despair that all the people of Judah were now destroyed. God allowed the temple in Jerusalem to be destroyed because it was a situation implying that the people of Judah had already been abandoned. To the people of Judah who were living in such despair and discouragement, the word of God that was heard through Jeremiah was that He would restore them, and this word could not help but welcome them more than a single drop of rain after a long drought. The word of God heard through Jeremiah did not stop at simply restoring them, not only that they would never be taken captive by the Gentiles again, nor would the restored ones be left alone so that they would never again dwell in sin, He wants to appoint a righteous ruler like him to rule over them.
It is truly a wonderful grace for the people of Judah to do this to them, who were forced to die because of their own sins. Even more surprising is the fact that the northern kingdom of Israel residing in the north at that time was the Davidic family, that is, they rebelled against the lineage of Jesus and worshiped the golden calf idol instead of God. When you come, you will receive it. We realize once again that God's mercy is truly beyond human ability to measure.
In the midst of this, the gospel came into Korea without question, and as for the powerful work of the Holy Spirit, shamanism, the indigenous belief of Korea, remained deeply rooted in the people, but such a work of demons was not enough to block the powerful work of the Holy Spirit. The work of the Holy Spirit, which started in Pyongyang, seemed to cover the narrow Korean Peninsula in an instant, but there was also a hidden destiny. The Japanese imperialists took over the weak Korean peninsula at once and committed all sorts of atrocities at their own will, and they did everything they could against the believers to silence the work of the Holy Spirit that had just begun to ignite at that time. Despite their atrocities, those who were martyred by keeping their faith until the end, although their bodies returned to a handful of dust, their souls must have been accepted by the Lord. Because of their precious blood, the work of the Holy Spirit began to be kindled on this earth again.
Now, just as the history was about to begin in South Korea, we had to overcome the Satan's fierce attack once again. That is the 6.25 War. They started a war and tried to cut the last breath of believers, so they found the believers and stabbed them to death with bamboo spears and killed them, but God alone can never kill. Those who barely survived in the ashes of the ruins and believed, repented and cried out to God again and again. God answered their prayers, and once again the fire of the Holy Spirit was burning in Korea. Thus, within a short period of time, the unprecedented record of 12 million believers among 45 million people was left.
However, the words of God that were heard in Jeremiah's ears at that time are being heard again today. Although in the eyes of the world, believers are imperfect, failing to reveal the glory of God, and showing ugly behavior, as if God does not exist, the words we heard in our ears today are, ?쏞all to me. I will answer you, and I will show you great and mighty things that you do not know!??We all respond to that word. ?쁀men???쁋ord! Please!' These words of the Lord are largely the words of the Lord expressing His will for the whole world, and in the small words of the words we hear today, 'Now bring you out of your homeland, restore them, and make you children. ''Hallelujah!' 'Only the Lord may be praised forever!' Now, when the Lord comes, we must show them that God truly lives, so that they will never again take our God's name in vain. will be.
