Title: You Can't Conquer God

can't defeat god

What had Pharaoh shown before Moses so far? It was that he had <absolute power>. That is why he imposed a severe burden on the people of Israel, as it must have been before Moses. Atrocities through this absolute power continued throughout the ten plagues.

What is <absolute power>? It means “the power to do whatever you want, whatever you want.” For the Egyptians, the supreme god was the sun god, and Pharaoh was the son of the sun god. So it's only natural to believe that you have absolute power. So I was able to do arrogant acts without hesitation. A typical expression is “Pharaoh’s heart was hardened”.

“Stubbornness” means “strong stubbornness”. Agreeing only on what you believe is right and sticking with it is a hallmark of stubbornness. Pharaoh was the epitome of such strong persistence. 2 miracles (the miracle of the staff becoming a serpent, and the serpent eating the serpent created by the magicians of Egypt, the miracle of the Red Sea parting) and the 10 plagues (river, dog, tooth, wave, water, poison, ooh, sulfur, kam) , Jang) showing his stubbornness while watching it unfold in front of his eyes, it is worth referring to it as a synonym for strong stubbornness. In fact, in general, when encountering an incident like this, most raise both hands and feet early. How great would these two miracles and ten plagues be if we counted them one by one? But Baro is a great (?) man!

However, no matter how confident you are in your absolute power and how stubborn you are, you cannot overcome God. Why? Because God is the owner of the whole world. What Exodus wants to show in earnest from now on is the message that “we cannot overcome God”. Of course, this fact was also shown in the course of Moses' vocation, but compared to Pharaoh's case, it is only a hemostasis of the feet.

God wants the whole world to recognize and praise Him. So, in this Exodus incident, without exception, he said, “The Egyptians will know that I am the Lord” (Exodus 7:5). In human history, whether it is the history of an individual, the history of a nation, or the history of the world, there is a turning point, and whenever this turning point is crossed, God is showing that God is the ruler.

Then, what God shows us is, ‘You cannot defeat me’, but how does he show this?

First, it makes us realize that we cannot overcome God by acknowledging human limitations. A sane human being immediately admits that he has limitations. You will immediately recognize yourself as a being with the limits of death, the limits of disease, the limits of possessions, and the limits of knowledge.

Even the magicians of Egypt were able to imitate up to the second of the ten plagues. He was able to replicate the two plagues of turning the Nile water into blood and causing countless frogs to appear in the Nile River. However, from the third plague, the plague of turning dust into lice, it was impossible to follow.

Humans think they have done what God can do with what they do to some extent. Perhaps it is thanks to advances in science and technology. However, no matter how advanced science and technology are, humans are still confined within their limits. Judging from what is still being discovered and still being developed, humans are clearly limited beings. I swear, until the day the Lord comes again, man will still be discovering something.

It is God's desire to acknowledge this limitation. Therefore, what is more important than what you have discovered or accomplished is the fact that it is in 'Do you trust Almighty God?'.

Second, by using nature as it is, not man-made, he makes us realize that we cannot overcome God. God uses man-made things. But at the decisive moment, you use nature. God himself uses nature that he has conceived, combed, and preserved.

What are all ten plagues? Nature. <Kang, Dog, Lee, Wave, Water, Poison, Woo, Hwang, Cam, Jang> It is not a nuclear weapon. But this nature is scarier than nuclear weapons. Although it is a nuclear weapon created by humans with so much cost and energy, the power of nature is truly immense. Examples include the tsunami of several years ago, the earthquake in China, and so on. Therefore, everything used as an instrument of judgment in the book of Revelation must be natural.

So, why does God use nature and not man-made? First of all, it shows that you are “one who exists by itself.” To prove that you are the beginning, creator, and operator of everything. It is to show God's knowledge that cannot be compared with human knowledge. Humans will fight with weapons of their own making. However, when humans oppose God, God judges humans by nature.

Through this, we come to realize that human beings are weak before God and that it is wrong for humans to confront God.

Third, by punishing the gods of the world, he thoroughly shows that no other god can overcome God. There is only one true God in this world. All the rest are demons. They are manipulated by Satan. Or fallen angels. They know that God is the only God. They just do all kinds of camouflage so that humans don't notice it.

The ten creations that God used for the Exodus were representative gods worshiped by the Egyptians at that time. The river used in the first plague is the Nile god Harpi, the frog used in the second plague is a frog-headed god of resurrection called Hekt, and the third plague is Seth, the earth and desert god. The fourth plague, Paris, is called 'Uatit', the fifth plague, the cattle plague, is the bull god Apis, the sixth plague, 'Imhotep', the god of medicine and poison, and the seventh plague, hail, is the goddess of heaven, 'Nut'. , the eighth plague refers to the locusts, the grain god 'Set', the ninth plague is darkness, the sun god Ra, and the tenth plague refers to the death of the firstborn and the resurrection god 'Osiris'.

The Egyptians worshiped various gods centered on the sun god. On this occasion, God brought down the 10 plagues for the Exodus, demonstrating that all the gods they worship are useless. In addition, the Egyptian polytheistic culture must have naturally permeated the people of Israel who had lived in Egypt for 400 years. So, the intention was to sort this out right now.

In fact, there were people who had become accustomed to the Egyptian polytheistic culture in the 400 years of their life in Egypt, but could not even remember who Yahweh God was. In the end, looking at these 10 plagues, both the Israelites and the Egyptians wanted to come to the realization, “Wow, the things I thought were gods are nothing.”

Look around you. What is your idol right now? Aren't you drenched in a world like Egypt? Are you selling your faith by being seduced by the various cultures that the world has to offer? Are you planning to overcome God by any chance?

As I have explained so far, no one can overcome God. Rather, the more you try to overcome God, the more you lose. Acknowledge God, Lord of the whole world, Lord of my life, and acknowledge your limitations. That way you can live. I bless you in the name of the Lord for this to happen.
