Title: You made it glorified
Contents
1. We have a helper (verse 26).
In the midst of suffering, we are not alone. There is someone to help us. Why are you helping us? Because we have weaknesses. The apostle Paul's expression is so weak that he does not know what to pray as he should. It is not only the mothers of the three generations who seek vain things without knowing what to ask for. But the Holy Spirit knows our weakness. So He helps us in our weakness. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to the will of God. Even if our prayers are clumsy and lacking, the Holy Spirit is with us. The Holy Spirit doesn't just pray for us. Romans 8:34 says that Christ intercedes for us at the right hand of God. With groanings that cannot be uttered, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us at the right hand of the throne of God.
2. There is something we know (v. 28).
We are fragile. When we are in trouble, we do not know what to pray as we should. But there is one thing we do know. The truth is that God makes all things work together for good. ‘Why do I have to go through this suffering? What is the meaning of this suffering?’ is the suffering we experience when we suffer. But because we know God's providence, the sufferings of the present will benefit me in the future. And we can overcome hardships because we know that it brings good results. Those who love God, those who are called according to His purpose, are not afraid of the hardships they are going through because they know the providence of God.
3. It is God's will that we be glorified (v. 30).
In verses 29-30, the five processes of salvation are explained. ① Foreknowledge ② Foreordained ③ Called ④ Justified ⑤ Glorified. These five are not independent of each other, but are linked together. None of us, as humans, do any of these things. He leads one-sidedly under the guidance of God. The five rings can never be broken or stopped. Because God does it. How imperfect would it be if our salvation was determined by our actions. However, salvation is planned by God Himself and is accomplished under God's absolute sovereignty. God does it. And it is declared as “glorified.” From our human side, it is an honor that will appear in the future. But from God's point of view, it has already been decided.
So why does God love and glorify us? There are two purposes in verse 29. The first is that those whom God foreknew may also be conformed to the image of His Son. The second is that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
God has already glorified us. The present hardships do not bring us down. overcome it all. You will win. Watch the reruns of matches you've already won. Because you know the results. Our lives have already been decided. God has decided and decreed to glorify us. As we look forward to the glory that will be revealed to us in the future, I hope that you will overcome the hardships of the present with faith. It is the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ who help us. What we do know is that we work together for good. It is God's will that we be glorified.
