Title: You Make Me Remember
Content: Human beings are living beings. Therefore, it is called a relational entity. If the relationship isn't close, you won't remember it well even after meeting.
In today's Word, God told us, "You should remind me."
I. Why did you tell me to remind you?
? Israel did not serve them as God remembered them.
1. “You did not call me.”
? Verse 22 “But you, Jacob, did not call me.”
? This is not to say that sacrifices were not made. He did not seek God in his heart and pray.
ex) Jacob is an ancestor famous for his prayers. Hosea 12:4 Let's read. “… Wept and pleaded with him, and God met him at Bethel... ”
? They had the name of their ancestor (Israel), but God could not bear the godly life of their father. how are we Are you walking the path of your ancestors, who served God with fiery faith and lived a prayer life?
? Why did God create it? Let's read verse 21. “… that they may bless me.” But they do not pray by calling on God’s name. Out of your 24 hours, is there a time you spend more valuable than an hour of prayer?
? If the children of God do not call upon God and pray, who will call and seek and pray?
2. “You afflicted me”
? Verse 22: “O Israel, you have afflicted me.”
? “I found it difficult” - meaning to annoy, to be burdened with, to be burdened with, to dislike. Is serving God burdensome and cumbersome, tormenting us?
? Read verses 23-24. God said that I did not toil or afflict you with anything, but you considered me afflicted, and on the contrary, you made me toil and afflicted me with your sins.
? So, how can God remember them for good things?
Saints, let God remember us with pleasant things.
II. God will not remember your sins.
? Let's read verse 25. “I, even I, am the one who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” As verses 23-24 say, He will forgive those who have trouble serving God and who harassed Him with their sins.
? “Smear” - to cover up so that the sin cannot be seen. The blood of Jesus on the cross covered our sins and made them invisible. This is ‘Grace alone’ (Sola gratia), and salvation is saved through ‘Faith alone’ (Sola fide) of this fact.
? However, if you continue to reject this grace, you will not wait indefinitely. Read verses 27-28. You cannot wait for a tree without fruit. Because it's just throwing away the land.
Ⅲ. Therefore, ‘You Remind Me’
? Let's read verse 26. “You make me remember… Show yourself righteous.” What could be so great about being righteous in life? However, even the smallest things are pleasing to God and cannot be forgotten. Example) Hyung-yun at the age of 3: crying, “Grandpa, it’s not hot!
? how will we do it?
① Let's always look forward to it: 'Look for it' - 'Tie it together'
② Find, sing, and pray: A life without prayer is a life that pleases Satan.
③ Let's love God and serve God actively
④ Let's Do Righteousness: The difference between Catholicism (act of faith) and our view of salvation (only faith).
? We have neglected our actions. I have been saved by grace, so I must do better.
Saints, God remembers even the smallest things, and He is grateful and moved by them. “You remind me”
