Title: You mustn't live by the flesh
Today's text compares those who pursue the flesh and those who pursue the spirit. Those who pursue the flesh think about the things of the flesh, and those who follow the spirit think about the things of the spirit. As a result, those who pursue the flesh will die, and those who follow the spirit will find life and peace. The body or body referred to in the text refers to human nature.
According to Freud, humans have three domains. In other words, the ego and super ego are governed by reason, and the primal instinct (id) is governed by emotion. The biggest reason that distinguishes humans from animals is the free will given to them. Depending on the situation, free will follows the emotional side or obeys the commands of reason. While humans can make the life given to them richer or more rewarding and ennobling, they also abuse themselves, run rampantly, and even commit suicide. It is normal for humans to control themselves, but sometimes we often see them being manipulated by third parties. In particular, there are many examples of headmasters of emerging religions manipulating their followers at will.
That is why it is important to be self-aware, to know your fractions, and to perform your functions properly. Man goes crazy when the ego deviates from himself. A crazy person is a crazy person. People today seem to be living in a generation that has lost their self. It seems like I live my life leaving my share to others. We see a situation in which even the faithful character and authority that we should have as human beings are sometimes entrusted to the head of a political party, to the head of a workplace, or to the representative of a group, and to obey their instructions like a machine. In the light of common sense, things that are difficult to comprehend are happening frequently these days ahead of the election. Perhaps it is the result of acting according to human nature. This seems to be because the personality or career that has been built up so far is out of the control of reason and is being manipulated by emotion. So it's disappointing us.
Humans tend to have patterns of thinking and living patterns that can be predicted with common sense. Animals tend to behave unpredictably unless they are well tamed. If humans, too, are governed by their instincts, they will do unpredictable things without hesitation according to their original impulses. It can be said that we are living in an era of uncertainty, living an unpredictable life. In the end, it seems that you will become a person who lives and dies according to one's own interests or greed.
But there is a way to live a sure life. The truth is that if we live according to the Spirit of God, we can find life and peace. In other words, if we live according to the Spirit of God, not according to human nature, life and peace will follow.
The Spirit of God comes from the Greek word charisma, which means grace. Therefore, we can find cases in which gifts are given through grace in Romans 12:6-8. “According to the grace given to us, each of us has different gifts. If it is prophecy, it is according to the fraction of faith; if it is service, it is service; if it is a teacher, it is teaching; if it is exhorting, it is exhortation; , let him who shows mercy do it with joy," says Paul. Such charisma is possible when the Spirit of God is given to us. Humans have no choice but to feel their limits. In the case of Kant, pure reason was the most representative character and pursued the supreme good, but he placed great weight on human pure reason by judging that the future is already here just as the past is here and now in relation to the present. However, the reason is said to be the same in the future as it was in the past, but it adds to the question of whether it can be controlled only by the ego or the superego.
Humanity refers to the time when reason and morality coexist. Today, we are living in a time of loss of reason. No, morality is even more difficult to find. Therefore, it is becoming difficult to find a human-like human being. Why did this happen? Perhaps it is because the spirituality of humans, who are called the lords of all things, is disappearing. If we had spirituality, the world would be different. If the charisma given to everyone is used as the original charisma, society will be different. But we live in a time when charisma is hard to find. Because human nature so proudly dominates us, I wonder if charisma can't even find an opportunity to intervene.
I earnestly hope that the Spirit of God will come on each person evenly according to their fraction. The content of this text is that the Spirit of God brings life and peace. These words are well described in John 10:10. It is written, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly." It is reminiscent of the thief that poet Ji-ha Kim harshly criticized in the poem “The Occupation. Kim Ji-ha summarized the chaebols, lawmakers, high-ranking civil servants, generals, and ministers, and criticized them without question. Thieves eventually steal people's property, imprison, kill, and destroy innocent people.
But there are people who give us life and make it more abundant. He is Jesus, the Christ we believe in and follow. He came into the world to atone for our sins, atoned for our sins by dying on the cross, and rose from the dead to give new hope to the dead. The Spirit of God makes us believe in these things and brings us life and peace.
However, I am the one who accepts Jesus as the Savior. I have reason to accept him or reject him. If the judgment of reason chooses the emotional side, the human nature leans toward satisfying the desires, so it falls into the slavery of all kinds of bad instincts. Can we call it fate in this case? They simply give up easily and conclude that it is a play on fate. But I don't think you can conclude everything with the word fate. It is because I think that if I were a responsible country, I might be able to make a clearer judgment and a more responsible decision. Our proverbs have words. If the input is wrong, the output is bound to be wrong. What shall we plant? If you sow the works of the flesh according to the flesh, you will eventually get nothing but death. However, if you live after the Spirit, you will receive life and reap the fruits that lead to peace.
Of course, this AIDS patient is also so obsessed with human nature that he hastened his death. However, you will experience the spirituality of this one and the same person again. So, it makes us aware of the preciousness of life, attachment and peace, for those of us who are healthy but lack spirituality. By now, he would have already passed away. Because he lived according to the nature of his body. However, the last life he lived after contracting AIDS was peaceful because he lived according to the Spirit of God, giving his classmates a generous peace.
Before this happens, I want us to live according to the Spirit of God. So I hope that the Spirit of God will fill our homes, society, and the whole world.
