Title: You See Only Outward Appearance
Content: You only look at the appearance. (2 Corinthians 10:7-8)
A few people who were jealous and jealous of Paul slandered Paul like this.
<First> He said that he has a dual personality when he faces you and is humble when he is away from you. (Verse 1) When Paul was teaching the Word, he was very determined when he preached the gospel. But in human terms, he was a warm person. However, although this is a very small part of the Corinthian church, it was used as a slander against Paul.
<Second> He personally attacked him for having Paul's ugly face. (Verse 7)
Koreans place great importance on their appearance. Even the president does plastic surgery to make money, but there are many people who do plastic surgery. The Apostle Paul seems to have had a rather insignificant appearance. He's short, ugly, and stutters a bit, so you don't know how many people who have heard of his fame and met him in person have been ignored.
Why should we not judge a person by their appearance?
<1> Because God created them in His image.
You are mine, and I have begotten you. I created you! Because God made it. Just as the countless flowers in the world glorify God in their own shape, we must glorify God in the way we are. I am God's masterpiece.
<2> The reason we should not discriminate against people is because God forbids them. Because James 2:1 says, brethren, do not judge others by appearance, since you have received faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory and glory.
<3> This is because God saves all people on an equal footing.
Rich and poor, handsome and ugly are the same soul before God. If God had chosen outward appearances, we would all have been cast away. Evangelism under the lamp is approaching. Young and old, we must not forget that we are all one and the same soul before God. A black elder in the United States was on the road because it snowed so much that he could not go to his church, and he stopped his car and was worshiping at a white church. While we were having a service, a white elder came and entered by mistake. Please leave. Hearing this, the elder was kicked out. At this time, the Lord said, "I will go to the church from which you are being cast out."
concluding remarks
People often judge people by their looks. If you wear nice clothes, drive a nice car, and live in a nice house, you will look high, otherwise you will be despised. The problem is central. Samuel was going to choose Eliab, tall and handsome, to be king, but the Lord said, Don't look at his appearance and height. I have already abandoned him. What I see is not like a man's; man looks at the outward appearance, but I the LORD look at the heart. God, who sees the heart, chose David, a shepherd boy, as the king of Israel. You can change clothes, and you can change the decorations as much as you want. But the center is not. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will become God's people who are after God's heart, who sees the heart.
