Luke 7:11-15
People are born, study, work, and get married. Dying of old age is something that everyone cannot avoid. Life is to come empty-handed and go empty-handed. Young people will not be able to feel it well. You may be falling into the illusion that the present time will last forever. But it seems that time in life goes by so fast. Even in this fast passing time, we who believe in the Lord must live the time of Kairos. This is the time when God's action unfolds and His plan is realized. No one can catch the flow of time. We need the time of Kairos that the Lord has given us.
Statistics show that the suicide rate among young people has increased and now 36 young people commit suicide every day. Statistics show that 20 of those 30 are young people in their 20s and 30s. Unemployment among young people is rising, making them increasingly vulnerable. It is difficult to find young people even in the church, and it is very difficult to settle them in the church. Soon, young people will leave Korea, just like the churches in Europe.
I hope that the youth of this land will recover again. In order to do that, the church must provide a way to establish a vision. So how do young people with dreams get back up? That is, young people must meet the Lord. We must meet the Lord on the road where the river of precious blood flows, recover our lost mission, and have a vision.
Let's take a look at today's text. The Near East has a strong sense of community. When we die in one village, we prepare a funeral together and weep together. This is the road to Jangji. The body must have started decomposing after 4 or 5 days. It is a path of despair and there is no hope. But the dead young man meets the Lord. The path will change from a march of despair to a march of hope. A miracle happens when a dead young man comes back to life. In this way, someone who can prophesy the words of Jesus like Jesus is absolutely necessary in this age. “Young man! Get up!”
When the Word is proclaimed, the dead rise. There is only this. Only the gospel can raise up dying young people on this earth. If the love of the Lord is poured out on young people who lose their passion and whose love has grown cold, they will come back to life. This is what the church should do. If the church does not open its doors to them, there will be no youth in the church 20 years from now.
What do we really need to do? Our birth is not just born, we are ‘chosen’. If they believe this, they will be able to do great things. You have to tell them this. The sound of saving their souls and the sound of love should be heard everywhere. We must help with prayer. It must be nurtured by faith. You have to nurture your dreams. I hope that it will become a church that gives dreams and visions to young people, you and me, and the church of this land.
