Title: Your Dream Comes True Like This

Contents

Subject: Your dreams come true like this

Text: Genesis 37:5 -11

I want to ask you.

What are your dreams, visions, plans, and goals now?

Each of you here must have had dreams and plans to achieve before emigrating or studying abroad, and some of those dreams and plans have been partially or completely revised after coming here. And maybe your dreams and plans for tomorrow are "nothing as it is now." I don't know if anyone is saying that.

Ladies and gentlemen, having a dream and a vision for tomorrow is the key to gaining hope and confidence and living your life today.

Among those who came to study English here in Canada, they must have made their own plans to study English this way and that way.

For example, reading a few pages of an English book or an English newspaper a day, studying English like this and that through TV, videos, or movies. I study English like this and that through school or private lessons. And the content of studying English will also depend a lot on what you want to do in the future, that is, your dreams and vision for tomorrow.

For example, if you have a dream of becoming an auto mechanic in the future, you will have to read car books in English. If you want to become a computer programmer, you will have to find and study English books on that area. If you want to translate sermons into English like me, you will need to read a lot of English Bibles. will have to see

In particular, among immigrants, "What shall I do to make a living?" or "What will you do to make money?" I know that each of us is praying to God in order to achieve our plans, visions, dreams, and goals together with this thought.

However, there are things that you must point out before trying to achieve your dreams and plans. The only question is whether the dream and the vision came from God or from oneself.

Everyone, think about it.

We grew up with many dreams from an early age.

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" When asked, many children say 'Teacher!' Or 'Doctor!' 'A lawyer!' 'The President!' speaks well.

And when you grow up a little bit, that dream becomes more specific. For example, it can be converted into a specific job such as an engineer, a stewardess or a designer.

I also had a dream when I was young. On a sweltering summer day, a young man carried a bucket of ice-sketch and said, 'Ice-sketch- !' And when I saw them running around the neighborhood and shouting, someone said, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Without hesitation when asked, "Ice sukiyaki longevity" I answered.

And, a little bigger, some uncle said, 'People!' "What do you want to be when you grow up?" When asked, "Pupae longevity!" He replied very bravely.

And when I was in middle school, a teacher said that if I go to Jeju Island, I can live well with just one tangerine tree. Thinking about it, I spent a lot of money asking my parents to pay me to buy a plane ticket to Jeju Island at that time.

And after that, my dreams have changed a lot.

Just before I was discharged from the military, it was my dream to become the President of the Republic of Korea. So, I made a plan and prayed to God. “God, if you make me president, I will do great things for the country, people, and God in the future, so please make me president!”

However, these dreams were completely revised by God.

God made me go into a pastoral path that I never thought of and neither my parents nor my friends thought of me at all.

Guys, when I say to myself, "What am I going to be? What am I going to do in the future!" It's good to have a dream and make a plan. However, how about asking God first if those dreams and plans are what God wants and wants?

In particular, in order to make a very important decision that will influence one's life, it is absolutely necessary to start by asking God who insists on human life and death.

If your dreams and plans coincide with what God wants and desires, and if you fulfill those dreams and plans with God, your anxiety and worry will disappear and you will be empowered and courageous.

And when I can't achieve my dreams and plans with my own abilities, I can expect God to help me and make my dreams and plans come true.

In my case, I know that coming to Canada is not my plan and my dream, but God's plan and God's dream.

That's why when I'm having a hard time, I say, "God, you know, see. I don't know what to do in such a difficult situation, so God must help me and God work." and can pray. And when difficult situations come, I experience that God will help me without any doubt and accomplish things I cannot accomplish.

I always pray. “God, my dream, my plan, and your will are much better than my dream, your plan, and your will. Please show me your dreams and plans and never let me deviate from your plans! "

Folks, the Bible says:

“I am the vine and you are the branches; if he is in me and I in him, this man bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). , the vision I think to myself is that it is difficult to achieve. And even if that dream is fulfilled, you can see that it makes you more unhappy because of that human dream rather than giving you happiness.

For example, while living with the purpose of life around honor and money, success in life and worldly pleasures, we have achieved success in our own way, gained fame and money, but on the contrary, we are farther away from God and we lose peace and joy in our hearts. I see a lot of people giving up and living unhappily.

It is everyone's wish and everyone's wish that you and I live a short life worthwhile and happy.

To do this, it is better to live by receiving dreams and plans from God, who loves us the most, wants us to be happy more than anyone, and knows everything about the future.

In the Bible, there was a person who received a dream about his life from God and lived like this. This is the man named Joseph in today's text.

One day he had a dream, and while he was working in the field with his brothers, he dreamed that his sheaf of grain was standing upright and that his brothers' sheaf was bowing down around his sheaf. In other words, it was a dream in which the older brothers would bow down to him because of the grain. And one day he had a dream in which the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to him. In other words, it was a dream in which father, mother, and 11 brothers bowed down to him.

Because of this God-given dream, Joseph knew that he would rise to a very high position in the future. Of course, Joseph was happy to receive the dream, but the brothers who heard the dream were very unpleasant and hated him even more.

But, how did God's dream come true for Joseph?

In our opinion, it is a God-given dream, so it is easy to think that Joseph passed through the elite course without much trouble and passed first place in the same course as the past exam, and immediately ascended to a high position.

However, a closer look at the Bible reveals that this is not the case at all. Rather, Joseph goes through a life course that is very far from the dream God has given him.

At the age of 17, he was trafficked by his brothers and taken to Egypt to live as a slave. After resisting the temptation of his master Mana-nim to lie with him, he was framed as a rapist and sentenced to prison.

In a way, the dream God had given him did not seem to come true at all.

During his time in prison, he must have thought about the dreams God had given him countless times and questioned God countless times.

“God, what was the dream you gave me back then? Is it a dog dream? Is it a fantasy? God, it is a dream that God has given you, but how the hell does that dream come true? "

Considering the situation of Joseph at that time, no matter how God gave him a dream, it was very rare that his dream would come true. It would have been easier to win the 649 lottery, and it was almost impossible for Joseph's dream to come true.

But a very strange miracle happened.

When the time came, Joseph became the prime minister of Egypt, and in the end, as God had dreamed, his brothers came to him for grain and bowed down. At that time, Joseph remembered a dream God had given him back in the day and said, "God, that dream has come true today! How great God is!" and make a confession.

Ladies and gentlemen, even though God has given you dreams and plans, there are times when those plans do not come true at the desired time.

However, you may find it strange or say, "Is God cheating too?" and do not doubt God.

God also gives us dreams, but he uses his best method to make those dreams come true. If God had made Joseph take the elite course and accomplished it without any trouble in order to fulfill the dream God had given him, Joseph would have become more arrogant and eventually hated by God and people.

Rather, Joseph suffered human trafficking from the person closest to him, was framed for cruelty and injustice, and endured the process of enduring many years, so even though he became the prime minister of Egypt, Joseph was never arrogant and was a man of faith who looked to God to the end. this could be

When I was 26, like Joseph, I had a dream God gave me.

And when I received that dream, I felt so good just thinking about it.

I thought that there would be no difficulties in making that dream come true and that I would only take the elite course.

Ladies and gentlemen, even if your dreams do not come true according to your own methods, do not be so discouraged or so desperate. God is still using the best way to make your dreams come true.

Of course, even if it's a difficult process for me, and "God, why is it so hard?" No matter how many times you ask, never doubt that God will make your dreams come true.

The Bible says:

“God said, ‘I will surely bless you and bless you, and I will multiply you and multiply you.

Ladies and gentlemen, God gives each of us the promised blessings, but sometimes it takes a little longer than we thought. But if you don't go through that process, it may look good at first, but it will never benefit you later. Rather, it is much better to go through all the processes God has given you and to have a better ending.

Just as Joseph, who went through all the processes of God, eventually became a man of God and a person who fulfills God's will, may we also go through the process well and stand in a position to fulfill God's will as God's people to the end in this foreign land. bless you.
