Title: Youth are hope.

Bible: 1 Samuel 2:26

2009. 7. 26. Afternoon

Youth are our hope for the future at home, at church, in society, and in the country. When young people grow up healthy, strong, and wholesome spiritually, personally and physically, there is hope for society, the country, the church, and the family.

About 80 years ago, at Sapporo Imperial University in Hokkaido, Japan, there was Dr. William Clark, an American professor of botany who was educating Japanese youth at the time.

Dr. Krak taught the Bible to young Japanese and instilled faith and courage in them.

Eight months later, on the day he left Japan and returned to his homeland, a large number of his disciples had gathered to transport him.

Dr. Krak left a famous saying to the students who had gathered at the school gate.

"Young man, have a dream!" (Boys,! be ambitious)

The young people who realized their dreams and visions through his teachings later became the leaders of modernizing Japan.

He grew up to be a spiritual leader, and one of them was Naechon Gam-sam, whom we know well.

Therefore, we adults should always encourage, consider, and take care of the growing youth so that they can grow upright, healthy, spiritually and personally.

Today, it is not a word that is specifically addressed to students, but a message shared by students, teachers, and parents, giving hope to the youth. I would like to share the grace with you.

1. A community of prayer

Samuel in today's text knows very well how he was born. He is the son of his mother Hannah's tears. In addition, young Samuel is a child who has been living and praying in the temple since he was 3-4 years old.

So, as in today's text, "The child Samuel grew and received more favor from the Lord and from people." Hallelujah He grew up receiving more favor from God and people.

But look at the verse from verse 22 just above today's text. This is the story of the two sons of the priest Eli, Hophni and Phinehas. Far from praying, they grow up as rogue youths. When they bring an offering for sacrifice, they take away all the meat and eat it, and when pretty women come, they do evil before God, who secretly sleeps with them. So, in the end, they all die in the battle against the Philistines at the same time on the same day.

But Samuel grows up praying in the temple. In the midst of prayer, God appears and prophesies about what will happen to Eli's family in the future.

Samuel later, when performing his first mission as a prophet, gathered all the people together at Mizpah and proclaimed a fasting prayer. And pray for repentance. When the Philistines heard the news, they rushed in. Then the people ask the prophet Samuel to pray for us. You win a great victory in this war.

And there is a famous saying that Samuel made in front of the people when he made Saul king.

“I will never sin before the Lord in ceasing to pray for you, but I will teach you in the way that is good and righteous.” I declare that not praying is a sin.

So, throughout his life, he was respected by the people as the great leader of Israel and built up the country.

It is all because of the community of prayer. Because of my mother's prayer and my own prayer.

Now, for the youth, our hope, we must create a community of prayer together. Not to mention the students themselves, I hope teachers and parents come together to pray for the youth.

“Anyone can count the seeds in an apple, but no one can count the apples in a seed. Only God is counted.”

The enormous potential that lies in the hearts of young people cannot be counted.

Therefore, I hope that teachers, students, and parents will pray together so that many fruits can bear fruit.

2. Design your life centering on the Word of God.

From the beginning, Samuel plans his life centered on the Word of God. His mother Hannah was weaned and left to the priests to live in the temple because she longed for the word of God and longed to live God-centered.

Parents should entrust their children to live completely centered on the Word of God. Some parents are hesitant about whether to go to a retreat or an academy. School is good too. However, it is more important to receive training in the Word of God.

There was a family of an elder in a church. The elder never spends his children except for student worship on Sundays. And the retreat made it impossible to even dream. However, the child did 3rd in college. I have no faith. He hung out with rogue youths and eventually became an unpredictable child. There is something the elder regrets. I heard that I regretted saying that I would have become a good student now if I had sent them to a retreat rather than sending them to a hagwon and changed them with the word of God and the Holy Spirit.

Life doesn't just end with being a teenager. There are many more important moments in his life ahead. Therefore, at this time, teachers must teach students thoroughly centered on the Word of God. Our parents need to make their students not limited by one grade now, but to become spiritually transformed and inner-filled with the Holy Spirit, so that they can design children centered on the Word of the Lord.

In 2002, the BBC conducted a survey of 1 million British people. Who is the greatest leader in British history? was to do. The first person in this survey was Winston Churchill, ahead of Sexpeare.

But looking at his student record, it's a mess.

A poorly behaved and unreliable child, a child with no hope at all, a troublemaker who only fights with other children... His grades barely escaped failing. He had nowhere to go, so at the recommendation of his father, he entered the Sandhurster Yukgyun Academy after taking three.

But why did he become Britain's number one respected leader today?

Two things. The first is a person who prays, and the second is a person who is centered on the Word of God. Whether on the battlefield or in the National Assembly, he always prayed, read the Word, bowed his head, and had a spiritual relationship with God.

When World War II was in full swing, he attended the graduation ceremony of his alma mater Haero High School on October 10, 1941.

"never! never! ever never!"

“Never give up. Never, never! No matter how big or small,

No matter how important or insignificant it may be, it will never be done except in honor and wise judgment.

don't give up Don't give up on the strength of the other person. No matter how overwhelming the opponent

Even if you have the power, never give up."

God gives infinite power to those who pray and live with the heart of the Word. God gives hope to those who have no hope and makes them great leaders.

Therefore, the word of God is to be a light and a lamp in our path.

conclusion

Youth are the hope.

Dear saints and teachers, Please never accept the fact that young people are our hope for the future. Please nurture and teach them well with the word of prayer.

And students!

You are the protagonists of the future who will take responsibility and lead this country, nation, and people. So think about what the main characters are supposed to do. The main characters never die. Now, I hope you don't forget the two things I said today.

I sincerely pray that you will become a person of prayer and a person of the Word.
