Confession of Faith: Apostles' Creed

Text: "Abraham hoped and believed in hope..." (Romans 4:17-22)

As we live in this world, there are many times when it seems that God's word does not work and it seems to be the other way around. At this time, most people have doubts, blame God, complain, and even turn away from God. However, those with firm faith do not waver, trust the Word of God and keep their faith, no matter how difficult the circumstances and when everything does not go well. Abraham, the main character of the text, is such a person. Let's take a look at what unshakable faith is through Abraham's faith.

First, it is faith that hopes and believes even when you cannot hope. As we go through life, we can often find ourselves in bleak situations. There are times when I am skeptical that believing and waiting is actually a very foolish thing to do. But in this case, Abraham believed in God, who raises the dead and calls things that do not exist. I had the faith to hope and believe even when I couldn't hope.

Second, it is the faith that overcomes tribulation and temptation. When you are in peace, you don't know if that person's faith is strong. When there is a tribulation or a test, you can know a person's faith. Tribulation and temptation are painful. However, if we overcome tribulation and temptation, we can have good faith that shines like gold refined by fire.

Third, it is faith that does not doubt God's promises. When Abraham was 75 years old, God promised that he would make a great nation. But that promise was not fulfilled until Abraham was 99 years old. The Bible tells us that he did not doubt God's promise to Abraham.

Dear brothers and sisters, God is all-powerful. You are faithful. Once a promise is made, he is sure to keep it and is able to keep it. I hope that all of you, like Abraham, will believe and trust until the end with unwavering faith.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to live a victorious life with unwavering faith no matter what tribulation and trials come. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
