Title A person with a vision (dream)
Text: Genesis 37:1~11
a person with a vision (dream)
Today is the second Sunday of January 2011. Now, we are looking forward to 2011, leaving behind a difficult 2010. The focus of today's worship service is to live with a vision (dream) for the year 2011 and for the rest of our lives. And we want to go one step further and go into the world with a vision (dream). The God we believe in does not imprison us in the church, but He sends us into the world.
Hallelujah! In the text, Joseph appears as a man of vision (dream) in a word. In verse 5 and below, God showed Joseph in a dream about the things to come. When the brothers heard about Joseph's dream, they became jealous and tried not to acknowledge Joseph's dream. We believe that it was Jehovah God who gave Joseph the dream.
I believe that it is Jehovah God who will make Joseph's dream come true. I believe that Jehovah God will give us the dreams we need as we live this year in 2011, and the one who will make our dreams come true. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no revelation, the people go wild, but blessed are those who keep the law.” Dear Community of Faith! Now we are in the 2011 新年劈頭. In the new year, I bless you in the name of the Lord to become a dreamer.
1. A person with a vision (dream) is not afraid of the environment.
The first thing we should remember is that just because there is a road with a dream and a vision does not mean that there are no difficulties. Even on the path to faith in God, there are bound to be trials. Everyone! The bigger the dream, the greater the trials and tribulations. It's like hitting a stronger wind when you run, when you ride a bicycle, or when you open a window in a car than when you walk.
The bigger the dream, the bigger the resistance. But don't be afraid to resist, it's just a process that God is shaping into a person who fits the vision (dream) that the person has. A trial came to Joseph, who had a dream. In Genesis 39:9, Potiphar's wife is tempting him. Joseph not only refused Potiphar's wife's request, but also refused to be with him.
Potiphar's wife grabs the clothes more aggressively and hangs on them, so Joseph throws off the caught clothes and runs away. As a result, Joseph was put in prison. What did Joseph do wrong? He just lived uprightly and honestly. But he is now in prison. What a sad, frustrating, and heartbreaking story. But I believe that God, who makes evil good, brought Joseph out of that prison to become the prime minister of Egypt.
As a result, the ordeal that came to Joseph was the process of becoming the prime minister of Egypt. Hallelujah! Dear Seongsan Church Faith Community! I hope you will remember that there is nothing to be afraid of suffering that comes while doing God's will, that suffering is a hidden blessing and a gateway to the house of blessing.” In fact, if we only fear God, in 2011, we believe that we will be freed from the fear of all circumstances. I believe everything will prosper. Hallelujah!
2. People who have a vision (dream) are not impatient.
It sounds simple, but it is a valuable lesson. In order for our vision (dream) to be protected, it is something we must remember. Moses waited 40 years in the palace, 40 years in the wilderness, and 80 years of training before becoming a leader. Even after David was anointed by Samuel, it took 15 years as a shepherd in the wilderness to ascend to the throne of Israel. Joseph in the text also had a dream at the age of 17 and was hated by his brothers and sold into Egypt as a slave.
This is generally how God works, and the time needed. If we really want to be used greatly according to God's will, we must not rush or put our willpower in the first place. One thing, one thing, persevering, you need an attitude to refine and prepare. God has always used prepared people in history. If we prepare without rushing with a vision (dream), we believe that the Lord will use us. We trust that you will put the work of the Lord into our hands and will do it. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you prepare calmly with a vision.
3. People who have a vision (dream) live faithfully.
Joseph was consistently faithful in adversity and in police officers. That's why I like the saying, "I work hard rather than saying I'm good." To say good is talent. In other words, it is versatile. However, this word can be misused. In other words, to be good means to be versatile. Believe in your talents and talents, you can use tricks, or you can be told that you are good by using tricks. But working hard is different.
To work hard means to be sincere (誠實). There are no calculations. It's just nodding. Integrity is cut from the cow heading to Beth Shemesh. Oh! Lord, where have you left the faithful on this earth? Joseph lived faithfully with an unchanging heart at all times and everywhere. In Potiphar's house and even in prison, he lived faithfully. Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as to the Lord, and not to men.” Dear Seongsan Church Faith Community! In the new year of 2011, do your best for 6 days with the work God has entrusted to you as you live each week.
And on Sundays, come before the Lord and offer worship of glory. This is the attitude of a person who is sincere before God and before people. We believe that our God is a faithful God who makes dreams come true for those who work diligently with dreams. Dear Seongsan Church Faith Community! Don't forget that the pronoun of your name is "sincerity." Even if no one knows, I hope that you will live faithfully before God in the new year of 2011 and for the rest of your life. If you do that, I believe that God will surely fulfill his will.
Dear Seongsan Family! A person with a dream is not afraid of the environment. A person with a dream is not impatient. A person with a dream lives faithfully. I hope in the name of the Lord, those who have dreams before God in the new year 2011, may those dreams come true through God's grace.
