Confession of Faith: Apostles' Creed

Text: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, which the forefathers have obtained by this… ” (Hebrews 11:1-3)

God has given us a precious gift. It is faith (Ephesians 2:8). But there is something important. It is a matter of how we view the gift of faith that God has given us.

Let's take a look at the people of faith revealed in the Bible. Saul and David were men who had the gift of faith from God. But their beliefs are different. King Saul used his kingship to change the system of worship. It is a negative view of God. David put God at the center of his heart and looked at God positively. What would be their results? King Saul is possessed by an evil spirit and eventually commits suicide. However, David receives the blessings from God and lives a victorious life.

We are the same. Some people live a victorious life with the gift of faith that God has given, while others do not. We must live a victorious life. Today's text suggests a way to live a victorious life.

First, 'faith is the substance of things hoped for' (verse 1). These words are the pillar and foundation for believing that the future will be spiritually already possessed by the present, with the assurance of God's Word and promises and their fulfillment.

Second, it is 'the evidence of things not seen' (verse 1). Faith is the ability to see what the eye cannot see. But unbelievers scoff at "Where is God?" They cannot see because of their unbelief. However, we must live with the eyes of faith looking at the Lord who is with us every day.

Third, 'by this the forefathers have gained evidence' (verse 2). Faith must be accompanied by solid evidence. It's not a vague heart attack. Hebrews 11:4 and below explains the evidence of faith that the forefathers of faith received in various ways. Abel's story. Enoch, who walked with God, appears. By faith, Noah prepared the ark, and so on. Faith has the amazing power to make our dreams a reality. I hope that we will have victory through faith in God, who created the heavens and the earth through His Word.

Prayer: Loving Heavenly Father, help us to solve many problems through faith and win. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
