Title/ Accompanying (1) Special Providence
The average age of the patriarchs before the flood was 912 years old Enoch was 365 years old.
“Enoch walked with God, and God took him…” (verse 24).
In this historical record of Noah, we can be given an important life clue.
1. What does the genealogy of the patriarchs teach?
Since the creation of Adam and Eve due to the sin of Adam and Eve, death to the dust has come to mankind as a result of God's judgment.
It is true that many people enjoyed the blessing of longevity because of God's special grace, but the end of their lives was death.
The Bible expresses this with the words, “He lived and died” (5,8,11,14,17,27,31).
This is the greatest obstacle no human can overcome (Hebrews 9:12), and it shows the faithfulness and justice of God who loves humans but hates sin.
Also, God's word, "If you eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you will surely die in the Garden of Eden," was true.
Therefore, it explains the justifiable reason for the saints to listen to and obey the Word of God, who gives life in this world.
And in this genealogy of Genesis, the story of Enoch is that he sent his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to this earth to solve the problem of death that all mankind must suffer, and made him bear all the sins and death of all mankind and restore the purpose of creation. It shows the providence of God's history of redemption.
Therefore, it is teaching that Christians living today should live with the hope of eternal life, rather than focusing on the blessings of finite longevity and wealth on this earth.
What is our ultimate goal in life today?
If it is eternal life, are we living after God to obtain it?
2. How did Enoch not see death?
If we define Enoch's life, it can be said that he lived the most ideal life among ordinary life and then passed away.
He was a man who walked with God in his ordinary life.
so
“(Hebrews 11:5) Those who have received the testimony that they are pleasing to God
(Hebrews 11:6) “He was convinced that God exists (existence).”
record
The phrase “to accompany (hithalak;?????????)” means “to walk along the road for a long time with someone”, and includes the following three.
First, it represents a habit of life or a lasting relationship with God, that is, an intimate fellowship,
Second/ It refers to the way of life while living on this earth, which is obedience to God's commands or laws in life.
Third/ It refers to living a godly life (living in the world but separate from the world) while living in this world as God’s people.
Even though I live off the earth now... my soul, that sky
Stepping and buying...
This means that Enoch was a man who applied God's will to his life and had never betrayed God's will.
Today, if we want to taste and experience God's special providence in our lives, let's do our best to live a life that walks with God like Enoch.
