Title [Acts 19:21-41] Ephesus riot
Text: Acts 19:21-41
Title: Ephesus riot
Paul ministered in Ephesus for about three years. The synagogue and Durano vows were the places of sermons. During this period, many pilgrims to Ephesus heard the word of God from Paul and were converted and became Christians. However, we can see from the text that there were still many people who were exclusive to Christianity. Now, by examining the contents of the text, I would like to receive lessons and grace.
1. Paul confessed that he had a vision for a new ministry (21-22).
2. At the instigation of the silver-colored Demetrius, a great commotion arose (23-34).
Demetrius was the president of the silver-clad group. However, it seems that some of those who realized the truth through Paul felt threatened when they saw that the winds of great spiritual change began to blow, such as burning books necessary for magic. Thus, they tried to instigate the people engaged in the profession and ignorant citizens to reject Christianity. Silversmiths made a lot of money by making silver models of the goddess Athena and selling them. At that time, there was the Temple of Athens, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, in Ephesus.
3. The general secretary appeared to calm the crowd and disperse the group (35-41).
