Title [Acts 1:15-26] Apostle's Supplement
In the text, it is recorded that among the 12 apostles, Judas Iscariot filled the position of the apostle, which was vacant because he betrayed Jesus and sold himself and took his own life.
1. You can see the fact that Peter recovered as a leader (15-).
2. It introduces the destruction of Judas Iscariot.
Judas Iscariot was an important figure among the 12 disciples. He is the only disciple who has held a public office. He was a disciple who managed finances. In managing his finances, he became a slave to greed. Not only did he touch the offerings of the saints (John 12:6), he sold Jesus for 30 silver (Matthew 26:15) and even guided those who wanted to arrest Jesus (16). It is also a problem that he committed such a terrible sin, but because he did not repent of God and took his own life, he was bound to suffer eternal destruction (17-18). Please be careful that the position we have been given does not become a test subject. I pray that we will be free from greed by beating ourselves and obeying ourselves in prayer every day (Matthew 26:41). Above all, please remember that taking one's own life (Matthew 27:3-5, Acts 1:18) is a terrible crime that adds sin to sin rather than solving the problem. I hope that we will become believers who solve the problem by repenting before God.
3. Matthias was chosen instead of Judas to supplement the number of apostles.
