Title Acts 01:6-11 Be a Witness

Contents

In “Les Miserables,” written by Victor Hugo, young Jean Valjean is released from prison after 19 years in prison for stealing a piece of bread.

When he is arrested again after stealing a silver candlestick from the bride's house, who provided lodging and lodging for him who no one cares for, Father Milliere saves him by testifying that the silver candlestick was given to him by Jang himself. . It is here that Jean finally wakes up to love and runs a business under the new name of Madeleine, amassing a fortune and entering the market.

However, Inspector Jaberman does not give up and relentlessly pursues him. At the same time, when a man is mistaken for Jean Valjean and is arrested and punished, Jean goes out on his own to save the man and enters the prison, but soon escapes and saves Cosette, the daughter of the female princess whom he had helped before, is living in an unhappy life. He hid it in the monastery, avoiding the inspector's eyes.

Cosette then falls in love with the Republican Marius. Jean rescues Marius from a republican riot in 1832 and marries Cosette. Upon learning of Jean Valjean's identity, Marius temporarily distances himself from him, but realizes his mistake and returns to him. Jean Valjean marries Cosette and Marius, gives them all of his fortune, and ends a tragic fate.

Victor Hugo was a famous writer in the 20th century. However, his private life did not live up to his reputation. He was very arrogant, greedy, depraved, and harassed his family by leading a vain life. Then, in the summer of 1841, his beloved daughter, Leopdinne, drowned. The daughter's body floated into the river. Regarding the death of his beloved daughter, he says: “This tragedy is the judgment God has given me. My daughter is not dead, but I am.”

He starts over from there. Les Miserables is a novel written while starting a clean, godly life again. In the novel, the main character who caused the conflict is himself. Although he struggled to live a good life, the world did not recognize him.

The age we live in today is also a time of struggle. But is that struggle in the right direction? The resurrected Lord taught two subjects: the kingdom of God and the Holy Spirit. After receiving this teaching, the disciples ask Jesus a question. However, the content of the question is not about the kingdom of God nor the Holy Spirit, but about the restoration of the kingdom of Israel. Even though these disciples had already betrayed the Lord, left, and gathered again after knowing that He was resurrected, it is even more pathetic.

Then we will be no exception. The verb they used to “restore” tells us that the disciples were expecting a political and territorial country. But Jesus gives them one more chance. It was knowing that they would be changed when they received the Holy Spirit. So, even if we have different interests from Jesus' interests, Jesus is patient with us. Today, he gives us one more chance.

The disciples cherished local nationalist aspirations. What Jesus presented to his disciples in this narrow, nationalistic aspiration is a life as a witness in the power of the Holy Spirit. “Be witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” These words were not given while ignoring the situation. This is Jesus' teaching by asking the disciples' absurd questions. This teaching of Jesus is the solution for those of us who care about the restoration of Israel, the restoration of our business, the restoration of our lives, and the restoration of our children. Come to the ends of the earth and be my witnesses. The ends of the earth here also include Rome, which they hate so much.

A kettle of boiling water reminds me of coffee and cup noodles, Watts sees a steam locomotive, lightning frightens them, Franklin sees electricity, Rodin sees a thinker in granite, and Disney sees Mickey Mouse in a mouse. We must show the gospel of the cross of the Lord.

The beginning of the kingdom of God begins with the Lord's rule over us.
