Title Acts 28 “Finally in Rome”
Acts 28 “Finally in Rome”
The Apostle Paul, captured by Jesus Christ, left Jerusalem and stayed in Caesarea, eventually boarding a boat and arriving at Rome, the final destination after many twists and turns. It was to fulfill the mission given to us by the Lord Jesus. And there he accomplished his mission. Mission impossible! Mission accomplished! For the Apostle Paul, no mission was impossible and no mission was impossible to complete.
1 “Be bound by the power of the Roman army, but over the powers of men, vipers, and diseases” (1-15)
2 "I was a prisoner in a Roman prison, but I had the freedom to meet and guide people" (16-31)
The apostle Paul was often imprisoned. However, Paul always had freedom and leisure in prison, teaching and guiding people. While in prison in Philippi, while singing and praying, he taught and guided the chief of the jail. In Caesarea, he was in prison for two years, but he taught and guided the Roman governors and other political leaders. In Roman prison, he met "the chief of the Jews" (17) and "many who came to him" (23:30), teaching and directing them. What Paul taught was about the hope of Israel, about Jesus Christ, and about the kingdom of God. Even if the people of God become prisoners in prison, they always have freedom and leisure to teach and guide people. During the Park Chung-hee regime, I was dragged to Namsan and interrogated, but I was able to have freedom and relaxation, and I was always free and relaxed when visiting North Korea. And they could prove their faith in God. It was because of God's grace.
3 “While they were in the Roman Empire, they witnessed and preached the kingdom of God” (16-31).
