Title Acts 02:37-47 Church-Centered Faith
Contents Church-centered faith (Acts 2:37-47)
Introduction
Let's read verse 46 together.
“Every day we worked together to gather in the temple, and broke bread at home, ate our food with joy and sincerity of heart, praising God.”
It is said that they made every effort to gather in the temple. In other words, they gathered at the center of the church. Our hearts are the temple, our families are the temple, and all places where we gather in the name of Jesus are the temple.
Then today, we are trying to grasp the right concept through the Bible about the church that the early Christians tried to gather every day and liked. One year is not enough to do anything about ecclesiology, but I would like to cover only a few things that you need to know at this time today.
Main subject
The origins of the church are well explained in Matthew 16:18-19.
“You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
First, what we can know from this verse is that the Lord of the church is the Lord.
Read the text again. Here, Jesus said, “I will build my church on this rock.” whose church is it? It is my church, the church of Jesus. No one can be the owner of the church, and the only owner of the church is Jesus. Jesus, the Lord of the church, makes the ranch. And they gather Jesus' sheep there. And sending your servants to shepherd them. Let's all follow along. 'The church belongs to the Lord.' So, if the church does not hear the voice of the Lord, it cannot function properly. If you say that I am the owner of the church, it is a pride of man trying to sit in the seat of God. So again. “The Lord of the Church is Jesus”
Then, the Lord of the church is Jesus, so let's look again at what kind of foundation it should be built on.
“On this rock I will build my church.” Here, the Lord's church is said to be built on this rock. This rock is the foundation of the church. The rock (Gel: Petra) does not mean Peter personally, but Peter's confession of faith. What did Jesus say when others asked who He was? Some said Elijah, a prophet, but Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” So, the foundation of the church is that Jesus is God. It is established on the confession of faith that Jesus is my Savior. So, without Jesus, there is no church. The church must be the witness of Jesus. Only those who truly believe in Jesus are saints. So, at this time, I have a question for you. 'Everyone! Do you truly believe in Jesus as your Savior and God?’ ‘Do you believe that only Jesus is the Savior who can forgive my sins and save me?’ Then, there is no doubt that the church is where the saints gather.
In order to hear this confession of faith from all mankind, Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day to raise me up. This Jesus will come again later and will lead us to the eternal kingdom of heaven.
Let's all confess our faith to Jesus. ‘Jesus is my Savior. Jesus is the Son of God. Only Jesus can forgive my sins.” “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Everyone confessed their faith. Then the church will stand on your own confession of faith. And we all come together to form the church.
So, dear saint!
The church is a faith organization that believes in the blood of Jesus on the cross.
The church is a religious organization that believes in the resurrection of Jesus.
It is a faith organization that hopes for the return of Jesus.
So, the gospel is about proclaiming that Jesus died on the cross for my sins, that He was resurrected to save me, and that Jesus will come again.
Summarize.
“The Lord of the Church is Jesus”
“The church is built on the confession of faith that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Second, the powers of Hades cannot overcome the church.
What is the vagina? As Hades, it symbolizes the underworld, the abode of the dead, and Satan's headquarters.
authority? As pilai, it means gate.
So the power of Hades is the gate of death, the gate of Satan.
Just as there is a gate to heaven, there is a gate to death. There is a door that enters the dwelling place of Satan. How many gates of Satan are there in this world? How many gates of sin are there? It is like the gate of Satan and the gate of the church. The fortress of Satan and the fortress of Jesus are fighting each other. The gates of the world are death, poverty, and suffering. We must go to the door of eternal life. What is that door? That is Jesus. So if we are in Jesus, the gates of Satan's death may threaten us, but they cannot swallow us. The fact that the powers of Hades cannot overcome means that God will thoroughly protect the church.
Third, Jesus gave the church the key to heaven. Blessings come through the church
The key here means the key to salvation. Salvation is only through Jesus Christ, the church. In John 3:16, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” Here, the way, the truth, and the life are unique. So salvation is only in Jesus Christ. You have to go through the only gate to heaven, which means only Jesus Christ. Giving the church the key to heaven means that salvation is only available through the church, the only place on this earth that truly believes in Jesus Christ.
conclusion
It is said that the early Christians worked hard to gather in the temple every day because they knew that there was a key, the only door to eternal life through Jesus Christ and through Jesus Christ in the church. Dear members of the church, we strive to gather more, share the word, and say that the church is a place where all people pray.
Conclude your speech.
First, the church was founded on the only confession of faith that Jesus is the Savior, that the Lord is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and we learned that the Lord of the church is Jesus.
Second, the church has learned that the power of Satan cannot be swallowed up because God always protects it. So, we learned that our members must gather thoroughly at the center of the church in order to be protected from the power of Satan in the last days.
Third, Jesus gave the church the key to heaven. The key to salvation is the key to salvation. So I learned that the only way to heaven is through the church, through Jesus Christ.
So, I pray in the name of Jesus that you may have more faith in Jesus Christ and gather around the church to keep our faith well.
