Title Acts 9:1~19 Seeing Again

Contents

Acts 9:1~19 Seeing you again Subject: 26. People of faith 2010. 2. 28.

Introduction

: A new convert cannot yet stand on his own, and when his needs are not met, it is easy to fall back and return to the world. Therefore, the needs of new converts must be met on their own.

1. The meeting between Saul and the Lord. (1-9)

2. Saul's preparation (necessary things). (10-19)

1. The meeting between Saul and the Lord. (1-9)

It deals with the case of Saul's conversion through an encounter with the Lord.

One). Saul's life before his conversion. (1~2)

Saul was burning with fierce anger against Christ and His disciples.

The meaning of the Greek word for “because of life” and “equal” means to actually inhale.

He was engrossed in the evil goal of “following that way…” that is, to destroy all believers.

* In fact, he volunteered to go to the Sanhedrin Council and arrest the fugitive believers.

The early church members regarded the Lord's teaching as a way, condition, process, kind, means, and experience of life.

About the teachings of the Lord

① The way of salvation (Acts 16:17)

② The way of the Lord (Acts 18:25)

③The way of peace (Luke 1:79; Romans 3:17)

④ The way of truth (2 Peter 2:2)

⑤ It was called the way of righteousness (2 Peter 2:21).

2). A light appeared from the sky. (3)

The sudden light that appeared to Saul from the Lord was that Saul was burning with malice when he seized and killed the believers.

it was when

The light came from the sky, supernatural and miraculous, so intense that it was brighter than the noonday sun.

When Paul saw a sudden light and a vision of heaven, he fell to the ground (Acts 26:14).

3). Saul's conversion. (4-5)

I heard a voice from Saul. The voice was personally given only to Saul.

“Saul, Saul” is a rebuke for the terrible sin of opposing and persecuting Jesus Christ.

They are (1) gentleness, love, concern, earnest request to listen and pay attention, and (2) reproof and warning.

“Who are you, Lord?” Saul realized that he was meeting with the One who came from heaven through the light, the Lord, the voice of the Lord. But I didn't know who he was.

“It is Jesus whom you are persecuting.” Could it not have been that Saul was trembling and startled?

Now his only hope is to turn to the Lord and obey Him.

4). Saul obeyed the Lord's command. (6~9)

“Get up and go into the city.” This is what Saul is going to do. Saul got up and went to Damascus.

“People who went with you” are witnesses. They do not know because grace is not given to them.

“Go into Damascus” Saul opened his eyes with grace (“Get up and go into the city), obeyed, and was led into Damascus.

“I haven’t seen you for three days” and I can’t move at all without the help of others. While I was alone, I would have continued to pray for the terrible sins of the past. (In the dark world of life~)

2. Saul's preparation (necessary things). (10-19)

One). Discipleship: Help from a Special Believer (10-15)

Who is Ananias? He is not an apostle or an ordained deacon. He was a general disciple (saint).

(Compare Acts 22:12: “a one called Ananias, praised by all the Jews”)

① Ananias was sensitive to the call (a person who was awake). (Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Tim 2:2,..)

② Ananias was willing to face a difficult job.

③ Ananias was willing to be a tool for answering prayers.

* Newly converted people pray for the help they need and receive answers through mature believers.

All. (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 20:35, Romans 15:1, Gal 6:2, 2 Timothy 2:2)

④ Ananias felt inadequate and insecure about herself.

* Knowing Saul's old life was a threat to believers, he was reluctant to help him.

that he is ineligible. Thus, I became completely dependent on God, and taught me to depend more on the grace, suffering, and power that God gives me.

* Converts are forced to face problems that require God's special grace to achieve good ends. (John 3:27, 15:5, 2 Corinthians 3:5, Psalm 116:6)

⑤ Ananias willingly obeyed God's commands.

* Obedience is believing, and faith is obedience (Hebrews 5:9, John 2:24, Acts 5:32, ...)

* Obedience is love, and love is obedience. (John 14:21, 1 John 2:5, ...)

* ‘Obedience is better than sacrifice’ (1 Samuel 15:22)

2). The call to service: Realizing that we are the vessel chosen by God. (15-16)

Saul had to realize the glorious truth. All converts are the same.

New converts must not be beaten, broken, thrown, unattended, i.e. neglected.

① Those who believe are those who have been chosen by God to bear the name of the Lord.

* Believers should know that they must communicate the name of the Lord through their hearts, actions, and actions. his body

It is the temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

* Converts must know that the primary purpose of their existence in the world is to share the gospel with others.

do. (Matthew 20:28, Luke 19:10, Acts 1:8, 4:20, 2 Corinthians 4:13...)

② God has called those who believe as those who will suffer for the name of the Lord.

(Matthew 5:10-12, Philippians 1:29, 2 Timothy 3:12,)

3). Serving: The experience of helping and serving. (17-19)

A newly converted person needed to experience help and service from a disciple.

① He needed a disciple's hand and help from a sincere heart.

② It was necessary to realize that we had become brothers in the Lord. A “brotherhood” consciousness is required.

③ Saul needed the power to heal his sickness.

* God healed Saul's eyes through the disciple he loved.

* The falling of the scales, whether covering Saul's eyes, symbolized the removal of spiritual darkness and the scales of sin and shame from Saul's heart.

④ It was necessary to receive the filling of the Holy Spirit (the power of the Holy Spirit). (Galatians 5:22~23, 6:2, Ephesians 5:18,...)

When he fell down on the road to Damascus, the Lord (the Holy Spirit) entered Saul's heart and life (baptism).
