Content Chapter 5
5:1-3 Describes the utter destruction and hopelessness of the northern kingdom to be faced by the Assyrian adversary.
Verse 1: Lamentation → A song sung to mourn the dead. complete defeat
Verse 2: It prophesies that Israel will be scattered into captivity by Assyria. You will not have the strength to stand up on your own, and no one around you will help you.
Verse 3: 1.000 100, 100 10, that is, only 1/10 will remain.
“Seek the Lord, and you will live”
Verse 4: Still giving opportunity for repentance and restoration before judgment. ex) Noah-Waiting for 120 years
Verse 5: Bethel, Gilgal, Beersheba (the place where Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob built an altar in the past) Place of idolatry
Verse 6: Repeatedly, he gives the judgment of fire, and it will come down from the center of Israel.
Verse 7: Points out the injustice of the judges. It becomes a rotten society and a dead society.
Verse 8: Serve only the God who rules the universe and the natural order.
Verses 9-13: The injustices of the judges
Consequences of accusing people Hate, honest people contempt, trampling on the poor and stealing taxes
Own a great house. BUT ① Can’t spend money properly ② Can’t last long ③ Can’t live in a good house
He also prevents us from enjoying the fruit of the grapes we planted. Moreover, these crimes and sins are an evil time.
Verse 13: The spiritually wise resist in such a state only to make things worse.
Because even if they shout, they are blocked by violence.
Verse 14: Do not seek evil (idol, bribe), but seek good (God) In order to live
(In the past you were proud and comforted with your mouth, but you will be with me in truth.)
Finally the judge comes
5:7, 10, 12, knowing that they will not repent, pronounces judgment.
Verse 16: All squares The dead Streets Farmers The death of the family after returning from the fields The weepers the boom
Vineyard The sound of death instead of the joy of fruition
Even the towns, villages, and fields will hear the cries of death and mourning. (Use tools Assyria)
Jehovah's Day
Verse 18: It was a day of hope for the judgment of the forces of evil, but darkness (judgment) to corrupt Israel, not light (salvation).

Worship in vain and God's judgment
God hates and despises every detail of that worship.
Verse 21: The sacrifice of an ungrateful person cannot be accepted sweetly. Rather, feasts, burnt offerings, grain offerings, and peace offerings cause wrath.
Verse 23: Remove the songs and instruments called praise.
Verse 24: Embrace justice and justice in your life as a spiritual life. This is not for one individual, but for a country.

Verse 27: The whole nation will go out of Damascus (Assyrian captivity).
God's words of judgment against idols (spiritual monsters) were expulsion orders.
