Bible: 1 Corinthians 9:1-15. Sunday sermon on July 2, 2007.
Title: The Apostle's Right.
I believe that our God will give us great grace today.
This is the story of a difficult time in our country.
It's hard for everyone to eat, so if you just feed them
There was a time when I was working.
For three (3) meals a day, from early morning
I worked until midnight. Sleeping in a very poor place
I was bitten by bedbugs while working in a camp together.
Even though I was ripped off, I just lived like that.
So there was a saying in the old days.
A widower has teeth (3), and a widow has rice.
Seo (3) said it was a horse. health, sanitation, or the environment
All of the above are words that have been discussed recently.
Once upon a time, in a wealthy country house, there were people engaged in farming.
There were several workers.
It was called a mustache.
When threshing one (1) kiln of barley for one (1) year
I received one (1) sack of rice. for this
I work from dawn to midnight.
There was no such thing as a labor contract.
What is the Labor Standards Act or the Minimum Wage System?
It was before it was even created.
So these days, the conflict between labor and management that makes the world noisy
When I see something like a general strike of workers, I feel really devastated.
You see, the world has changed a lot.
For that reason, these days, the problem of non-regular workers,
And the word “environmentally friendly” and that the ecosystem should not be dug
Controversy by environmental groups, or the word well-being,
Or if you see the words of the bio industry being newly commercialized,
We feel like we are living in another world right now.
In any case, what is called this work and the
The fact that you have to pay the price is all over the East and West.
It has been a matter of course in human society from ancient times to the present.
But everyone! Looking at today's text, the church in Corinth at that time was
The issue of livelihood of the servants of God who works in this church is extremely
You will find things that are being passively dealt with.
So, looking at the words of verse 7, three (3) examples are given
I'm trying to get your understanding. How can a soldier go through the army at his own expense?
Will the farmer not plant grapes and eat the fruit?
And how else can someone feed the flock and milk the flock?
Will you not eat it?” he asks.
(The word “healmun” means to ask questions).
And if you look at the words from verses 9 to 12 in the main text, you will find these words.
This is clearly stated in the Mosaic Law.
It is written, “Do not muzzle an ox that is treading on the grain.”
Why does God care for the cattle?
10) Isn't he speaking for us at all? The plower plows with hope
Whoever shakes the grain trembles with the hope of gaining it together.
it was written for us
11) Since we have sprinkled on you spiritual things, we
Would you say it is too much to reap?
12) If other people also have such authority over you, how much less is it ours?
But if we do not write this book, but endure in all things,
so that there may be no obstacles to the gospel of Christ.
Everyone! What do you think? At that time, the Corinthian church was
He was only zealous for quarreling and fighting.
I have no will to make up.
It is a church that has too many claims of the Lord.
Moreover, by bringing things outside the church into the church
Each of them was put to the test by secularizing the church.
The fornication of incest, which is hard to even put into words,
litigation between the saints, idolatry and eating sacrificed food
The church was noisy and everyone insisted that they were right.
And I wasn't really interested in what I had to do.
They neglected their duties in the church.
Feeding the Word at church and taking responsibility for spiritual things
He had no interest in making a living for the servants of God.
So today, through the text, the apostle Paul
Explicitly, step-by-step, step-by-step, while entering a real example
that is being debated. we listen today
This is something you should listen to.
But the Apostle Paul says:
Nevertheless, in order not to be hindered in the preaching of the gospel of Christ
I'm just saying that you can't help but be patient.
Everyone! Can you understand the Apostle Paul's feelings now?
Everyone! Today, our Korean church has a church board.
There is a party. The system is relatively good.
The officer is responsible for the finances of the church.
You must lead the life of the church.
And the unique authority of the session (elder) is to help the pastor (pastor).
It is to take responsibility for and govern the spiritual matters of the church.
In addition, the church’s budget and accounts for the year,
And it is a great responsibility to manage and supervise it.
Everyone! Let's take a closer look at the Bible.
These are the rules regarding the Levites in the Old Testament times. and soon,
Today, it refers to those who are dedicated as pastors.
Numbers 1:47-50. Only the Levites according to the tribes of their fathers
was not included in that number.
48) This is what the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
49) You shall not count only the tribe of Levi;
Do not include them in the number of the children of Israel.
50) Let them manage the tent of testimony, all its equipment, and all its accessories.
They carry all the equipment and serve there.
encamped on all sides of the tent...
Numbers 3:5-9. The LORD spoke again to Moses, saying,
6) Come to the tribe of Levi and stand before Aaron the priest and have him attend.
7) Before the Tent of Meeting, Aaron's office and the whole congregation
He served in the tent of meeting for his duties.
8) He shall erect all the utensils of the Tent of Meeting, and the children of Israel
to serve in the tabernacle for the ministry
9) Give the Levites to Aaron and his sons.
of the children of Israel, who were wholly attributed to Aaron.
This is Joshua 18:7. The Levites have no portion among you.
The priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance.
Gad and Reuben and half the tribe of Manasseh have already inherited from the east side of the Jordan.
This is what Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.
Everyone! As mentioned above, the Levites have no inheritance in this land.
No land, no business, no income.
Because he who is entrusted with God's work doesn't care
that prevented it from happening. So it's all for God
It was to make the temple work.
Then, in this way, they have no land, no business, no property,
If they didn't have it, what would they eat and how would they survive?
Numbers 18:20-24. And the LORD said to Aaron,
You will have no inheritance in the land of the children of Israel, nor will you have any portion among them.
I am your portion and your inheritance among the children of Israel.
21) I will give the tithes of Israel as an inheritance to the children of Levi.
I give them all to repay them for the work they do in the tent of meeting
22) After this time the children of Israel shall not come near the tent of meeting
lest I die in my sins
23) Only the Levites shall serve in the tent of meeting and bear their sins.
There shall be no inheritance among the children of Israel, an everlasting statute throughout your generations.
24) The children of Israel paid tithes to the LORD
I said of them, because I gave them to the Levites as an inheritance.
There shall be no inheritance among the children of Israel.
Everyone! These anointed servants were in the Old Testament
Even in the present New Testament era, his duties are strictly in line with the affairs of the world.
It was to separate the work of God.
And their diet is controlled by God through the operating guidelines of the temple
He made you take responsibility for your livelihood.
So today the church is responsible for this.
That is why the function of a small church or a large church or session is important.
The responsibility of elders is enormous. To support the church's policy in this way
For this, the function of the board of directors is also very important.
Perhaps it is still the same today. In the old days in the countryside
On Thanksgiving Day, we made offerings to God with grain.
The churches had to bear each other's burdens in preparing the fire camp.
Not only that. At that time, rural conditions were not improved housing.
Churches and houses all had thatched roofs.
So, I had to cover this roof with a new spirit once a year (1).
Due to this situation, the elders and deacons of the church
They had to take on the work of adding twice as much to others.
It's hard to look back.
But they did this with joy.
It was like the early church. We always get together and learn the Word
There was fellowship of believers who broke bread.
Back to the main text. Verses 13-15. doing temple work
They eat what is grown in the temple, and those who serve the altar are with the altar.
Don't you know how to share
14) In the same way, the Lord also preached the gospel
You have commanded me to live by you.
15) But I have not written any of these, and the use of these words
I'm not asking you to do this to me, even if I'd rather die...
I will not let anyone turn my boasting into vain.
Everyone! What is the Apostle Paul's position now?
How do you feel about it? In the words of "I'd rather die"
Everyone! Our church is an immigrant church located in a mission field.
For international students and language trainees, and for them
I have a lot of family.
And or as missionary families, although it may not be possible to live comfortably
grieving the Holy Spirit of God by committing the same mistake as the Corinthian church,
It should not be difficult for God's servants. <Amen>.
