■ Opening story
■ day of the week
The work of the Lord is different from the work of the world. The work of the Lord is not done with zeal alone. Without the heart and attitude of Christ, it is absolutely impossible to handle. Because it is the work of killing self to save the church and revealing Christ while I am hidden. In that sense, the church office is not an honorary position, but a service position. In verse 1 of the text, the word “workers of Christ” appears. "Worker" here means "a person who paddles under the boat." The person who exerts the greatest power behind the scenes...that is, it refers to the slave. The greater the position, the greater the dedication. Jesus said, "Do you want to be first? Then be servants."
■ Posture for the Lord's work
Second, we must not listen to people's opinions (verse 3). “Neither do I judge me” (verse 3). Why did Paul say not to listen to people's opinions? 1) Because there are many times when we do not receive a fair evaluation When several people evaluate one person, the evaluation can also appear in several ways. Paul had a lot of bad reviews. If he had listened to people's opinions, he would have given up halfway through. 2) It was because there was a fear that the grace of the Lord might be reduced to human merit. No matter how fair the evaluation, if it reveals people without revealing the Lord, it is already wrong. Many fall after successful ministry. Failure follows success if we do not control our desire to reveal our merits.
Third, we must listen to the Lord's evaluation (verses 4-5). “But it is the Lord who will judge me” (verse 4). “At that time, there will be praise to every man” (v. 5). Only the master can judge the servant. Our Lord is Jesus, the Judge. We must live today, thinking of the eternal judgment seat. What must I do today to get praise and crown on that day?☆
