Sermons for Preaching

Title [Are believers free from ethics?]

2014. 8. 3 Sunday morning sermon

.

Bible: Romans 5:20-6:2

Title: Are Believers Free from Ethics?

.

Romans 5:20-6:2 ‘5:20. The law came in to increase the transgression; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.. 6:1. What then shall we say? Do we abid in sin so that grace may increase? 2. It cannot be. How shall we, who were dead to sin, live longer in it?" - Amen.

.

The Christian covenant of salvation is that we receive salvation by believing that God has forgiven our sins through the sacrifice of his Son. However, after gaining this faith, we must know that our daily sins also come with repentance and subsequent responsibilities. I am trying to organize the right attitude towards the social and cultural life of saints.

.

1. Eternal Forgiveness and Daily Forgiveness

.

There is a religious mistake that can lead to a mystical feeling (heretical) thinking that you are free from daily morals and ethics just because you have received God's forgiveness through faith.

Romans 5:20 “The law came in to increase the transgression, but where the sin increased, grace abounded all the more”.

.

In other words, we are logically tempted to sin and receive more grace. Knowing that there will be such a delusion of the mind, Paul says in Romans 6:1, “...will you abid in sin so that grace may increase?”

.

When sins are illuminated by the law, they become certain and their sins are forgiven, so it is a paradoxical expression that grace abounds even more where sins have increased. There is a saying, “The greater the danger of the enemy, the more glorious the conqueror.”

The sin here is not an original sin, but a sin committed arbitrarily in daily life.

.

Original sin is forever forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:3 “..the way of faith that was given to the saints once for all” (Hebrews 10:10)

Heb 10:14 “by one sacrifice he hath perfected forever those who are sanctified.”

.

However, after becoming a child of God (John 1:12-13), you can sin in your daily life. The apostle Paul spoke frankly in chapter 7 (Romans 7:24-).

.

everyday sin

1) Faith and doctrinal injustice

2) These are things that people do wrong in general world culture life.

.

Salvation was received at once through regeneration, but the life of the saved is still incomplete. Therefore, even if a believer commits a sin, he or she will be paid for it.

In John 13:8-10, He taught us to repent of our daily sins every day.

.

John 13:10 "Jesus said to him, "He who has already bathed needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. You are clean, but not all."

.

2. The Conscious Relationship Between Faith and Ethics

.

The global village is not heaven, there are countries and laws, and it is a very difficult world in which we must fully conduct ourselves while living in a society with unbelievers.

In Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, which can also be called the New Testament Law, Matthew 5:13-14 ‘13. You are the salt of the world; if salt loses its taste, with what shall it be salted... 14. You are the light of the world; a city that is on a hill cannot be hidden.'

Obviously, you are not saying you are the light of the church, but you are the light of the world.

.

The Bible teaches us to live fully in all areas of life.

Philippians 4:8 “.. whatever things are true, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are godly, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are praiseworthy.. Think of these things.”

2 Thessalonians 3:10 ‘..If anyone does not want to work, let him not eat..’ teaches basic economic obligations.

.

When choosing church officers, 1 Timothy 3:7 “You must also be a person who has obtained good evidence from outsiders, lest you fall into slander and the snare of the devil.”

These lessons are telling us to live a religious life where we do not listen to injustice when we live our church life.

.

Therefore, Paul said in Romans 6:2, 'It is impossible, how can we, who were dead to sin, live any longer in them?' do.

.

If you have made a mistake or fallen into the delusion of sin, it is normal to repent again so that your soul can come to life. Therefore, believers believe that they should strive for a godly life, knowing that they do not have the freedom to lead an ethical life, no matter what spiritual experience they have with faith.
