Title Are you worried? /John 14:27
How many of us live in the world without feeling anxious?
Although they seem to be casual on the outside, they live with anxiety for various reasons. Some of them suffer from anxiety disorders day and night.
Anxiety, once well dealt with, doesn't always give you peace of mind. It's about having the ability to deal with anxiety on an ongoing basis.
So, how can you deal with persistent anxiety?
Jesus lived a life of unique peace. How was this peace possible? If we do like Jesus, we too can experience amazing peace.
1. Absolute Faith in Heavenly Father
Jesus always called God Father, and at the decisive moment he called Abba. When he saw God, he always thought that God was the Father and that he was always a child. This was the attitude of the Lord who called God Father. And Jesus tells us to do the same.
Following Jesus, we too must call God Abba and Father. Then we can always keep the peace that the Lord has as ours and live in our hearts.
2. Peace of Thorough Obedience
Jesus was always and always obeying God, so he was convinced that God would not leave him alone.
“He who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, because I always do what pleases him” (John 8:29)
Those who believe in Jesus become anxious if they do not obey God.
We must obey God to keep our peace at all times. Obedience means that we are on God's side.
“Though armies encamp against me, my heart will not be afraid; though wars arise against me, I will rather be at peace” (Psalm 27:03).
“Thousands of people try to surround me, but I will not be afraid” (Psalm 3:6).
3. Peace from earnest prayer
In the Garden of Gethsemane, the Lord became the Lamb that took away the sins of the world.
Unspeakable weakness, sorrow, and anguish were holding the Lord captive and debilitating his soul. Fear and surprise did not leave the Lord. But then Jesus got down on his knees and cried with all his might, “Abba, Father!”
As a result, God restored peace to Jesus.
The Apostle Paul also spent his whole life in a lot of fear and anxiety. But the reason why he had peace in his heart is told in Philippians 4:6-7.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).
Anxiety is more terrifying than cancer, and it comes from time to time.
That is why we must continue to fight over this anxiety and have the ability to manage it.
The Lord has promised us the grace to live with the peace that Jesus gives us, to give thanks and praise, no matter how anxious we are.
