Title Asking and Asking... (Numbers 21:21-35)
Contents
One of the most important things in every Christian's life is to discern God's will and obey it. However, many Christians interpret God's will arbitrarily or say that they have decided in advance and that it was God's will. Is this really the will of God?
It is really not easy to discern the will of God. It is not easy, so we need to ask and pray to God more and more.
According to today's text, the Israelites had to go through the land of Amor on the east side of the Jordan. So Moses, the leader, sends an ambassador to the king of Edom, as he did to the king of Edom at Kadesh, and asks him to let it pass. However, this time, King Sihon of the Amorites firmly refused and instead attacked Israel. The same situation as in 20:14 and below was created.
However, at that time, God caused the people of Israel to give up on that road and turn around the long way back.
However, this time, the nation of Israel waged a war with the Amorites, and as a result, a great victory was achieved. In Numbers Bible, there is no record of what God told Moses to do in this process, but if you read Deuteronomy 2:26 and below, which records the same content, God gave the Amorites to the people of Israel, so God tells them to fight. He does. Moses must have prayed to God and asked God's will when the road was blocked by the Amorites. And God told us not to detour this time and to solve the problem with the Jeonggong method. The king of Bashan in verse 32 also blocked the way of Israel, but God tells Moses not to be afraid, but to strike them down and defeat them.
Moses asked God's will in every moment before important events, and he obeyed God's word by faith.
Even in the same situation, God sometimes tells us to circumvent it and sometimes to overcome the problem head-on without avoiding it. That is why we need to train ourselves to ask God's will every moment without relying on our thoughts and experiences.
Even if it is difficult and difficult, if God tells you to go back, you must go back, and if you give up and let go, you must be able to give up and give up everything, unfortunately.
No matter how difficult and difficult it may seem, if you tell us to fight the problem, we must stand in front of the problem with faith without fear, relying on God, and fight boldly and overcome it.
What is the problem that lies before you now?
Do you have any problems blocking your way and holding onto your ankles?
Please pray over the matter. Wait until God reveals His will and ask Him for His will. And when God speaks to you through circumstances, through people, or through the guidance of the indwelling Holy Spirit, at that moment, leave all your thoughts behind and obey God's will.
I hope that you and I will continue to ask questions before God today as well and live a life of walking with God.
