Title: Assumptions Text: Ephesians 6:1-3
The family is the most important community in life. The community that God loves the most is the family. So, the family is the community with the longest history. It is an original system that continues as the basis of our lives. God worked hard for six days to create Eden and gave it all to Adam on the last day. But Adam was neither happy nor content. God knew that Adam was not satisfied because he was lonely. And he created Eve again for Adam. It was only after meeting Eve and establishing a family that Adam could finally be happy. Here we can see a simple but very important fact. Without a home, Eden is meaningless. The assumption is that it is more important than Eden. Eden can become Eden only when there is a family. It is true. Family is that important.
1. A happy family requires children to obey and respect their parents.
Ephesians 6:1-2 The most important thing children should do to their parents is obedience and respect. Obedience means ‘to listen carefully’ to a parent’s words, ‘to pay attention’ to a command or authority, or ‘to obey’. Eli's sons, who disrespected and disobeyed their father's instruction, were killed in battle. 1 Samuel 2:24 Especially family happiness is a family where there are children who listen carefully to what their parents say in the Lord. Proverbs 23:25 We must also be respectful. Respect has the meaning of 'to appreciate', that is, 'to value', 'to respect'. My parents are people I can respect just because they gave birth to me and raised me up to this point.
2. A happy family is a family where there are parents who instruct their children in the Lord's culture.
(Eph 6:4) The best way to raise children is to raise them with the knowledge of God. Hosea 4:6 As parents, we are saying that when we raise our children with the discipline and instruction of the Lord, we can raise them into successful children. To not provoke means to 'to infuriate', to be angry, to provoke to anger. That said, don't upset your children. We must not allow our children to harbor anger because of their parents' greed. We must not allow our children to be offended by the selfish thoughts of their parents. Children who are nurtured by the word of God by their parents will not only deviate from the truth for the rest of their lives, but will also come to know the grace of their parents. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Teach a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” So the Apostle Paul also said to Timothy: 2 Timothy 3:14 “But abide in the things you have learned and have been convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned.” Timothy learned from his mother and maternal grandmother a clean conscience and upright faith. Now, don't forget what you learned, and always remember who you learned from.
3. A happy family is a family where there are couples who love each other as if they were themselves.
Ephesians 5:22-25 says that husbands and wives should love each other as their own bodies, but that love should be loved with all their lives, just as Christ loved the church. These are the elements of a happy family. Marital love found in the Christian home is the very essence of the Christian family. Because it is an expression of love for God. (1 John 4:20) That is why the Apostle Paul tells wives to submit as Christ is the head of the church, so husbands have been given the same office, so they should submit to Christ. How do saints submit to the Lord? obedient to death. In the same way, you must surrender your life to your husband.
4. A happy family is one where God is the owner.
The family is the final crystallization of God's creation history. So the home is a divine work of God. The family is the culmination and crown of God's creative work.
That is why God is the master of our family.
