Title Attributes of the Model Church
Contents
A. Preface
1. The typical attributes of a Christian are freedom and peace (“Imitating Christ”, “Thomas Akempis”)
1) Pursue the benefit of others: (1) Show appreciation to the owner or clerk when buying a product (2) Consideration to add a few extra cents
2) Pursuing ‘How can I enjoy and be happy with this?’
3) Find only what is necessary and most important
4) Desire that God's will be fully accomplished
B. Body
1. The church is the place where God's will is done
1) A place to worship rather than study
2) Where prayer is the goal rather than fellowship
3) A place where worshipers serve
4) A place where God comes to meet you
2. A saint is a person appointed and chosen by God.
1) God takes the initiative
2) He chose without asking about morality, ethics, merit, or integrity.
3) The purpose of God’s initiative in choosing me is ‘to save another person through me’ → For the purpose of missionary work, God hires people in need first.
4) Exemplary membership is 10% of the total membership
3. The Sabbath is a non-routine departure from ordinary things: prayer, hymns, hearing the word and doing it
4. A model church is essential: a model student, a model workplace.....
1) A church where the Word and the Holy Spirit have work
(1) Word: Objective revelation through life history (2) Holy Spirit: Subjective revelation
2) When you listen to the sermon as the Word of God and practice it, amazing works will appear.
3) Encounter God with a reverent image of ‘before God’ → Do not try to live a good life, but try to believe right
5. 3 Christian Lifestyles (Calvin)
1) Sober and frugal: Faith governs oneself
2) A righteous life: Pursue righteousness in social life because we live by faith
3) Godliness to live in the presence of God: A life lived with the consciousness that God is always in front
6. Conditions of a model church member
(1) Affection support: Loving another person and making that person a loving person
(2) Tool support: I make that person a useful person
(3) Identity support: I reaffirm that ‘living is precious’ through my faith in Jesus.
2) Let’s keep our hopes with patience (verse 3): to smile with patience (‘I smile on my own’) even when faced with hardships
*Middle class of laughter: (1)laugh→Laughing because others are funny (2)smile→Laughing by yourself
3) Even in the midst of suffering, overcome suffering with the joy of the Holy Spirit (verse 6)
4) Be an example to all believers (verse 7)
